Player spec shirts for both Puma and Under Armour have been an option in the Spurs shop since Puma's 2010/11 shirts, even before that you could get player shirts at a reduced price at the end of most seasons. The club list them as 'authentic' and they start out at around £100-£120... if you wait til the close season they go for £40.

Are they just more of a better fit?

Why does it need to change? Do Barca or Madrid change?

Yes.

Very possible that the official images that you posted are the field quality shirts and the Spurs shirt is the replica shirt.

Nike generally releases a few different "levels" of shirts. They'll release a cheaper replica model that looks like the real one but is made of cheaper material, a mid-level that is normally close to the real thing, and then the "official" shirt that is supposed to be spec to what the players wear and is the most expensive.
and then there's the cheap copies that sell at less than half the price on Ebay

Pretty pissed off about the shield. It just doesn't look like a Spurs shirt to me - from a distance it looks more like it's an MLS team or something. The balance of the shield itself is off, the colour actually hides the cockerel and it's fucking enormous.

To a lot of people that saw the glory years, they might prefer the shield.

The only reason I won't buy it is the colour of the sponsor, a tough of red I can handle, but to prominent for me. Also due to having2 draws full of Spurs shirts I doubt I'll even go down the route of 1 of the away 1's this season. Also at the age of 53 perhaps I'm now getting too old for it.

All that really matters is that the team playing in it do it justice and hopefully go that 1 extra step next season and bring the title home.

FWIW @Footyheadlines are saying the away kit is just a reverse of the kit above. Navy with white trim. The AIA is in white on the away kit.

Appreciate we have a heritage of a plain white Jersey but that just looks uninspired. The badge is a throw back to the Pony Era and a set back from just the cock on ball. Hopefully the away navy kit will be a bit more interesting and spurs.

You're probably right and I can't say i'm too fussed.

We need this US/THFC thing to work. The kit and Stadium will be americanised so we will have to accept it.

Yeah, the shield ruins it for me. Probably woon't be buying any of the kits until it's gone.

I'd argue that changing the badge has an opposite effect to the one you describe. We haven't changed our official logo, just the one on the kit. Seems like poor marketing to me.

Kit manufacturers wouldn't dare touch the sponsor's brand, why ours?

Not too fussed about the shield... More '61 than '95 imo. Bit too plain for me though. I know many like plain kits, which is fine if you have a more easy on the eye sponsor... Which we do not. So therefor the mor plain the top, the more those big red letters stand out.
But aslong as it's navy shorts not white shorts, and preferably navy socks like last season, then it's ok I spose. Just one of many dull template kits. What's more to say?
