Harry Redknapp left Portsmouth broken.

Still they won the FA cup.

Be careful what you wish for, yada yada, but of course Redknapp isn't our manager, Poch is.

We're also a much bigger and richer club than Pompey ever were, especially with all that TV moolah.

And we have the NFL logo on our stadium website

perhaps our owners will realise that they may have to put some pressure on Levy in order to secure long term financial success.

There's one chap who owns 29.4% of the ENIC shares who might be well placed to put that pressure on. Daniel something.

Hardly surprising. You're all bonkers if you think we could operate any other way. I know Levy is held to account for this behaviour but we are so far away financially, even compared to Arsenal. The only viable alternative would be to get an extemley rich owner who is prepared to invest at the same or greater rate than the top teams, and the boat may have sailed on that one. Essentially we aren't or won't be able to compete. So of course the manager may get annoyed he can't spend 75 million and 300k per week on one player and of course its inevitable some players will consider their position if we're not winning silverware or paying them equally with these teams. Its just the way it is and is unlikely to change.

Think levy's transfer tactics seem to be.
- enquire about player.
- get given a price.
- if he thinks it's a bargain sign them up. If he thinks it's steep say ok i'll get back to you.
- waits for other clubs to spend their money. If player is still available go back and make a counter offer.

- if agreed then comes up with a unique payment method.

Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Can understand a manager being frustrated. Also understand that levy is doing what he thinks is best for the club.

What i do know is that by the end of the transfer window we will have signed someone. Whether or not it's poch's first choice is debatable. But after the last couple of transfer windows it will be someone poch wants or he wont give them the time of day. We will probably try to sign a young wildcard that may or may not work out but will be little risk (we could get most of our money back).

I think it's this part which is causing the biggest problem, bite the bullet earlier on Martial, Batshuayi, Lemar and the chance of the other teams turning their head is reduced, as they are still looking at targets higher up their list at that point. For example Everton just snapped up Keane, had they waited too long those currently shopping for the Van Dijks and Bonuccis of this world could end up moving on to them.

When we were averaging 6-7 signings a summer window I think Levy's approach was spot on, but now Poch has got us into such a good place where we only need 1-2 we should really be trying to make them the best 1-2 possible IMHO. Especially after the last minute panic buy last season benefited no one, time to be proactive and push the boat out to get the A-C targets that have been heavily scouted...

Poch is going to leave sooner or later, that's what managers do. Why is that so shocking to everyone?

I was going to phrase it differently but I totally agree. This is why I reckon every one should just enjoy the here and now and not let worrying about the future ruin a good thing.

I know we can't post media here so I will just say go and look up bale goals for spurs on youtube if you have a spare moment. It's really worth it. Players/managers come and go just enjoy the ride.

I don't know whether any of this Goat stuff is true, but a good friend of mine has had quite a lot of dealings with levy in property, and he says every time he'll wait until you've shaken hands on the deal, drawn up and signed your side of the contracts, and then he'll start fucking with the price when everyone's committed.

i'm 98% convinced that people on the forum who still defend Levy are being paid off from the man himself to cause peace in the Spurs Community, but then again Levy wouldn't pay off anyone

Look how far the club has come since ENIC took over, and should be the benchmark any chairman should be judged by.

Off the pitch 9/10

on the pitch 7/10

ITK can pull you all over the place emotionally...I think I'm just going to enjoy it when it's posted, not pin too much on it and see where we are in August.

Levy does some things well and others not so well...I can't be arsed to get angry about his transfer shenanigans but I do think he needs to take a more flexible approach with them in terms of fee's and payment structures. Wages is a different story which isn't for this thread...

True lol it's weird because if this does blow up in his face he will pretty much only have himself to blame. If they do want to get it ready for sale the results on the pitch will help to increase the value. Time for the other 70% to kick ass!

I'm sure he doesn't want to intentionally mess it up but there is a bloody fine line and he is tiptoeing over the edge too frequently.

There's one chap who owns 29.4% of the ENIC shares who might be well placed to put that pressure on. Daniel something.

It always makes me chuckle when this sorta stuff comes out. All the negative fans come creeping out of the wood work with their "I told you so's" and "that little bald prick is scewing us AGAIN" rhetoric.

I appreciate any and all ITK information but the reality is that NONE of it should ever be taken as gospel. It's passed on in good faith and that's great but let's face it, this latest bleat from the Goat could quite easily be someone that has an anti-Levy agenda. Not saying that it is but we can't rule that out.

My personal view is that I love a bit of ITK because if it's nothing else, it's a bit of fun and nothing else. It doesn't ever guarantee anything and just as much of it has been wrong in the past as it has been right.

So let's give all the doom mongering a rest. We're in a great position, we're not gonna start blowing up the squad or losing our manager and there will be signings soon enough.

if i was poch, and I've built such a good thing here, yet levy still fucks around with the price and be stingy about it, i will leave when the opportunity arises, simply because levy is not making me feel like we are on the same boat. just feels like you are exploiting me, just like how hes exploiting the loyalty of players by underpaying them

That conviction falls in the "dumb" category and fits well with every single post you've ever made.

Some people can appreciate the massive development of the club as a brand and its on pitch performance under Levy's leadership. Yes, there are many fair gripes you can have with him but some of the toy-throwing stinks of impatient, ungrateful ballbags that are crying their eyes out because we haven't signed anyone yet - regardless of the fact that we have arguably the best (and most settled) first 11 in the league.

Who agreed the deals for all the excellent players we have? Who has established the infrastructure that has led to us having one of the most productive youth academies in the world?

People like you epitomise why Spurs fans are so universally disliked. Get a fucking grip.

All can be fixed with 1 top quality signing I reckon. Time for Levy to do our manager a big favor and go out of his way to make it happen.
