Walker's been a mainstay throughout the entirety of me truly being able to follow Spurs. Won't feel the same turning on the matches and not seeing his blindingly fast, marauding runs down the right side. I think we'll miss him more than we expect, his incredible stamina and energy pushed us forward along with Rose. Also he will be, 100%, better aerially than any replacement. Going to miss Kyle, feeling disillusioned with the money of modern football at the moment.

Looking at it, great deal all round for all parties, the only down side being we strengthened a rival.

Poch has a track record of developing full backs especially if you look at his time in the premier league.

We don't really know what has gone on, it would have been great to keep him but inevitably there will be players sold due to the stadium ala Arsenal.

Would you rather someone from the spine of the team go or a full back that the management think can be replaced to a similar performance level?

Nice farewell message too

Decent bloke, very good player and wish him luck.

Ultimately, the money for him is absurd. Most expensive defender in history as Bonucci moves for £35m on the same day. Well played Levy. Half the job done...get a decent replacement and quickly.

My biggest concern is if City win the league next season what message is it going to send to the rest of the players? Not only does leaving mean you can double your wages but you also get success? Sign me up?!!

We really need to start winning things soon. I know people glossed over our cup failure last season but players generally want 2 things, money and to win things and at the moment we are lagging behind our rivals on both counts.

If I had to guess, Walker and Poch had a falling out over him not playing in that Semi and other games.

Walker probably threw his weight around a little, saying he is a senior player and he shouldn't be dropped when he is in good form and as we all know, Poch is about the team before any individual player.

I might be way off the mark but I think that's what happened. That being said, players egos are way out of control these days and Walker has a lot to thank Poch for, it's incredibly insulting to not mention him individually considering he has improved Kyle so much.

It is a strange one though because not winning something is largely down to the players i.e losing to fucking Gent

Well I'll wish him all the best, but having said that an ideal situation would be us beating Man City in the league cup final and ramming the first trophy of the season down his throat

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to urge the club’s board to speed up incoming transfer deals, according to The Daily Mail.

Following Kyle Walker’s £50 million-plus move to Manchester City, the Spurs boss wants the club to be more decisive in the transfer market in order to sign his key targets.

Pochettino is keen on Everton’s Ross Barkley and Porto defender Ricardo Pereira.

Any deal for Barkley is expected to drag on until the end of the transfer window with Everton seemingly refusing to budge on his valuation, despite the midfielder having just 12 months left on his contract.

Pereira is also complicated. Porto expect Tottenham to meet the right-back’s £22 million asking price, but the 23-year-old is believed to be attracting interest from Serie A Champions Juventus, which could throw a spanner in the works.

Elsewhere, a deal for the young Argentine defender Juan Foyth is expected to be completed sooner rather than later.

Spurs would be wise to move for their targets quickly in order to bed new players in during pre-season. But we know it’s not as simple as that. Sometimes deals take a long time, and Pochettino may have to be patient.

Yeah, but if City win the league we get £1.5m in add ons.

Every cloud.

i think the posh walker riff has been greatly exaggerated… to me it’s simple.. with the stadium build , levy has informed posh he has a top 4 team and will not be funding any new arrivals unless its from sales.. it’s been the policy for years now.. poch then does the numbers and finds a player he can less afford to lose and his value to other teams = walker.

The riff is an easy out = poch/levy don’t look like they’re selling a perfectly good thing that took us to 3rd and 2nd.. walker goes to earn double his money to a team thats also in top 4 and have money to win the whole thing.

come on - posh only realise walker can’t play 2 games at the end of the season when he is fitter than he’s been in years and doing it for 2 years now.

have we not realise now that a big sale doesn't amount to squad being better. we suck at buy big and we lose continuity.. Spurs will spend the walker money but that is all they will do.. again 00 NET SPEND AND ALL WILL THINK THAT THERE IS INVESTMENT IN THE TEAM..

NO.. there is investment in the company.. not the squad... they've been giving us stadium updates all summer like its signings

Perhaps there was some sort of falling out, to me these comments seem to be a bit of a dig at Poch (from BBC)

"I am thrilled to be signing for City and can't wait to get started," said Walker. "Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world..." "...I feel he can help me take my game to a new level."
