We cant sell another player to a rival, for any price.

But then what is the point in trying to keep anyone if we are just going to do nothing in terms of wages and ambition?

These bids for our best players are just going to be relentless unless we actually start doing something.

If levy is not careful this could derail our season. Once the rot sets in and player unrest appears its a nightmare. We have improved a year or 2 early with our budget. with other clubs paying silly money to average players it was always going to cause trouble. Levy needs to get some pay rises agreed and nip this in the bud.

oh man that criticism must've really hit a nerve A&C :D
Not really, well, not in the way you think, pretty much everyone rushed to rip the piss out of it but suddenly, pretty much everyone is starting to realise just how quickly it can all go tits and just how much what are seen as our 'failures' in the transfer market could possibly cost us.

People should be lining up to lick the fluff from the Goat's bumcrack.

If it Rose all he has done is bought himself half a season on the bench. We are all angry at the lack of ambition shown this summer, but a player going to the papers 2 days before the season starts is disgraceful. If its one of ours then f*ck em.

That said, unless we see serious movement in the next couple of weeks this window will have been a complete disaster and the blame will fall exclusively at Levy's door.

He's not a fan, so let's start with that. He's a player.

The reality is that he's a 27 year old player from Yorkshire who is the best left back in the league, reaching the peak of his career, and being paid a third of what he could be paid elsewhere with a total of 0 trophies to his name.

He's prepared to stay despite that, but if we can prove that we can do what it takes to strengthen ourselves to give him a fighting chance to win things with us.

I'd say that's fair enough. Fuck, I mean that's what we all want too isn't it?!?

Yet with 3 days before that season starts we have showed no ambition at all to do what's necessary to give us a chance.
You make valid points.

If he wants to leave then get a transfer from behind doors. I wont be giving him any respect or 'fair plays' or 'fair enough' from his decision. If it is him he's gone about it in a shit and disrepectful way. My support is to Tottenham and not some player that may want to leave because of a lack of signings.

The only thing that will stop me from being pissed off at this and also possibilty of him leaving is if it isn't his interview. Otherwise I will remain pissed off especially considering his importance to us as a team.

Whilst i agree with the overall sentiment of what rose says and posts that are sympathetic to what he is saying, can we please stop with this no ambition bollocks.

It's really lazy criticism of what is actually a complex procedure. We're not the only club struggling to secure targets. If you read what players like Morata have to say, or ITK about Keita it is clear that so much goes on behind closed doors that we don't even know about.

This no ambition talk .. is really misguided.

If I was Rose, I'd 1000% want out too. I dont begrudge any of our players for wanting out. The board has false ambition and do not pay our players the market rate. The boards ambitions(or severe lack thereof) and the team, coaches and fans ambitions are completely different. The team, coaches and fans want to compete for trophies now because the team is good enough to do so on a big level with 1 or 2 intent signings. The board has no desire to make these kind of intentful signings. So couple this with players being severely underpaid(compared to players of equal or lesser ability at other clubs) and you can see why all is not happy, happy joy, joy.

I wonder what the other players REALLY think?

Jan and dembele have repeatedly said it shows how good our squad is that we dont steengthen

Are they just saying what the club want us to hear?

I doubt we would sell Rose this window, purely because of the statement it would send out. But if it is him that has given this interview directly to the papers, Poch will surely be fuming...and we all know what happens once you've crossed him.

With his current injury issues and after this, I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if we never saw Rose in the shirt again...even if he isn't sold this window.

This does not surprise me at all, Rose gave a big warning to the board and Levy and they have done nothing.... they have just sat on their laurels and it is so sad as IMO this is the start of another break up in the squad and Poch will go, I have no doubt... why would he stick around.

If Poch goes, Levy MUST go in my opinion, he wont but he should - he has royally pissed me off this summer with his pure arrogance that we don't have to strengthen and now we have strengthened City, now Rose wants out.... how long before Alli/Eriksen want out?

Its OK saying Levy wont sell, but we know he will - another 50mil in the coffers for ENIC and don't worry we have Ben Davies to step in so we don't even need to replace him.

Spam away Levy lovers, but we have to realise under his steward we are a top 6 team - please don't @ me with we finished top 4 last 2 years, that is Poch and he will walk 100% - who wouldn't.

Maybe I'm clutching at straws, but that player outline sure looks like coutinho, and also Tottenham isn't tagged at the bottom

If it is Rose I say let's sign a comparable left back, make Rose his back up, only playing when we need to rest the other left back or in the league cup, so that come next summer Rose has lost his England place. He can't get pissed off with that can he? Because all we'll have done is shown ambition and improved the squad, like he wanted.

As before, that's 'if' Rose is the player speaking to the press. I still don't think he is, if nothing else he seems a little too smart for that.

Will need to wait to see the full article but based on the Sun 'preview' not sure what is wrong with his comments;

-Not saying he wants to leave
-Calling on board to buy players
-Wants to win trophies

Sounds fair to me, not sure why we would be reeling!
if true, hes a tad stupid, but I totally understand it. Like most of us hes been building up and waiting for success, then we get real close, on the verge, only to spent the summer not buying and instead selling.

I can understand him being frustrated. But going to the papers is disrespectful.

Understand where rose is coming from but if he feels this way it's something that he should be airing to levy and Pochettino in private and then he might hear what's going on and if he doesn't like it then he can decide to leave should we accept a price. Is he even back in training yet? Has gone down in my estimation.

Rose is saying what most fans are thinking to be fair to him. Don't agree with talking to media but maybe some players are frustrated that we are so close to winning trophies and no new signings have arrived to push us on. Rivals have improved and bought early. We are weaker than last season unless levy pulls some deals out late

What a bloody suicide, club has done this summer ?
  1. Unrealisitic ticket prices
  2. Fuck up in season tickets
  3. Newcastle away ticket fuck up
  4. No RB for 1st game
  5. 0 players signed
  6. Now player revolt
Levy cannot sell Rose now.
I am not sure how Poch will react now with Rose.
I am not sure how fans will react to Rose
I am not sure how will other players react to Rose. They may start getting similar ideas

The only club management can save their face is
a) Stop mopping around & splash the cash
b) Stop any resentment in ranks &give improved deal to shut the players atleast for season
c) Pray to Poch he can work with the team & carry forward

This is the perfect shit storm for Levy. He cannot run away from this now.
