Conte dosen't have to buy Rose, this goes back to his comments about ambition, he has stuck the knife in and twisted.

I do feel some of our issues are self inflicted. I'm no ITK but I genuinely feel if we were willing to pay a bit of a premium on Barkley it could have been done by now. Instead we have to make every deal a battle of attrition. We've had ITK from Trix saying the player side is pretty much sorted.

We may save a few million by dragging deals out but we also risk bringing a negative atmosphere to the club due to perceived lack of ambition as a result. Let alone risking being gazumoed.

We can't afford £50m players due to wages, £30m is our ball park and we only need 3-4. I'm pretty sure with our incomings we can provide 3-4 in that range with a minimal net spend...

I get it with players like Lemar and Keita Balde, we need a lot of luck to succeed, but we surely could have got an RB and Barkley in by now if we really wanted to. But as I've said, I'm no ITK.
Trying to be too clever by half is part of the problem with getting deals done on our behalf.

It will end well for him though. He'll get a move to City in a year and win shit while we fuck about trying to sign Josh King a few days before the season starts.

If we're in the mood to believe The Sun, then we're actually fucking about trying to sign that Ajax chap.

Get your fucking around right.

Would Barkley, a RB and a decent attacking option satisfy Rose's ambition? I'm not too sure it would as it sounds like he's talking about highly established players - which we won't sign!

It's alright to keep hearing how Poch, Levy and the recruitment team are "calm" but that soon leads to utter panic and desperate decisions - see Sissoko. I've been skeptical about this 'waiting game' transfer strategy but was understanding of our situation and willing to see if it would bear fruit. However it's pretty clear that it makes no difference. The market never dies down, look at Chelsea/United, they've bought a few and Conte/Mourinho still want more, even Pep said he needs another!

I understand where Rose is coming from because he is probably frustrated, knowing that if this team had an extra push then they could win the title and other trophies. Sitting around waiting while City completely strengthen is not what he believes to be ambition. He's probably spoke to KW who's being glowing in awe at the City side looks like.

Sure we may miss out on transfer targets but I still believe making the early moves is the best way as it allows you to move on quickly should you get blown out of the water and it at least shows the likes of Rose that efforts are being taken, some ambition if you will.

P.S - I realise that City get stuff done because of the money they have and Rose would certainly understand this too.

I've got no issues with what he said but his outlet of choice is bad.

Well he's a muppet for signing his last contract then.
Not if it was £15k pw. But fair point. You know who's fault this all is though. Jesse Fucking Lingard. Him earning £120k pw has done more to ruin football than Roman Abramovich.

Rose signed a new contract last september. Toby is in negotiations. In the last month 3 players have signed new contracts.

We are constantly negotiating contracts.

Only 8 players at real madrid earn over £100k a week. So how much do you think we should pay them?
Not according to him he's not.

For "anonymous" quotes, Danny didn't do a really good job of obscuring himself, did he?

It was dumb of him to speak to that shitty paper and it was dumb of him to do it when he did, but I think this can be temporarily smoothed over (if Poch is so inclined). Modric's comments were 10x worse when he decided he wanted to go to Chelsea, but he eventually straightened up and had a great year, because that's the only real play in a situation like that once the window shuts. The World Cup's next year too, so if the club hangs tough, they can get at least one more motivated year out of Danny.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes during next summer's transfer window, though. Sadly, I can say that about a lot of key players at the club.

Talksport saying Rose has said he's not paid what he's worth and he wants to play in the North.

A random transfer link and an interview with direct quotes are very different.
