It might be the wrong thread, but with the way it is being reported, I hope this deal does not tarnish our relationship with Ajax.

They have given us some quality players recently and they have a strong academy, would be good to keep things positive between us.
I'm sure 40M will smooth things over but anyway I thought it was reported that Ajax wanted to deal with us because of previous history.

& I think the opposite, because we've gone in too late, plus Overmars isn't selling us anyone.
"too late" - late for what?

On what evidence do you say Overmars isn't selling us anyone? Not his decision alone and no history to suggest he would be that petty.

LOL, i understand why he think's so; 2 weeks ago Overmars told the media that he will let anybody leave anymore. Don't worry, he told quite the same thing last year; August 1 he told Milik will stay this year and 1 or 2 weeks later he was sold for 35 million.

Overmars doesn't sell anyone. The chairman does.

Guns dont kill people. The chairman does....hang on.....what......oh yeah.

ANNOUNCE SANCHEZ.

I just think its gonna be funny when he does an amazing bit of defence work and I can look at my mates and shout "ahhh that was dirty Sanchez"......

Im gonna shut up now and have another pint!

Davinson Sanchez apparently not joining the rest of the Ajax squad for training. Seems to be really trying to force Ajax's hand..

Priya is great. One of the best football twitters but she isn't really a journo, just reports what she reads and shares her opinion. She is very pro Dutch football clubs so even if he was told to train solo she would probably skew that way. I am still not 100% convinced he was not told to do solo training while this is being worked out. No use to them if the deal falls through and he's not fit. Also no good having him near the team and may injure himself if he's waiting on word the whole time.

De Telegraaf is saying he trained alone in the gym today

With all respect to Ajax, will it not undermine their model if they don't allow players to leave when they really want to? They're a top club in their own rights but surely they pitch themselves as a stepping stone to the south American talent and if they blocked Sanchez move it wouldn't help them with that model.

I think overmars as a manager has to come out and say no player will leave. Doesn't look good if you just say every player has a price, that also gives the wrong impression to anyone looking to join Ajax or are current players for them.
