If we're spending £30/40m there's plenty of excellent forwards we can get. What about Timo Werner for example? Could be gettable with a substantial offer.

If they're not selling Naby Keita for £75m, there's 0 chance they'll sell werner for that. Martial is probably more realistic tbh.

No chance does Martial move for 30-40 mil. None whatsoever.

Difference of opinion here Clive.....

Was told we have moved on as the stakes were too high.

Daniel Levy:

"We have to find the right balance but I can honestly say it is not impacting us on transfer activity because we are not yet in a place where we have found a player that we want to buy who we cannot afford to buy"

So am I right in thinking we have now found said player?

Depends I suppose on whether it's only cash they want?????

Even though Martial is the player I want us to sign the most, I think we should be trying to sign Draxler instead. We can afford his wages (100k euro p week), he's on the transfer list, and would probably cost much less than Martial

My gut feeling is to forget about Martial. Not sure he's a good fit, expensive, wage issues within squad, what happens with Son, Mourinho is a clever git, Dier and Rose on Man U radar... I see too many negs to this. Martial is a decent player but the potential downsides really put me off.

I would not be too disappointed if we fail to get him. However, I am really worried whether we have a decent back-up plan for a forward player with pace and trick.

I can't believe the club are wasting so much time on Martial, when United tell us to bugger off on deadline day, we'll be left with our tail between our legs.

That's what I'm trying to understand. I got a couple of "funny" ratings on the above post which really wasnt what my post intended to be. I'd just like to point out that I wasn't trying to be facetious, I was honestly wondering whether or not you were alluding to them asking for too much, or if there was other issues. Cheers @Trix (y)

If we are seriously thinking of paying 60m for a player why not look elsewhere. Maureen would rather string us along till the last and pull the plug than strengthen us. I don't believe we are serious about this. We will have the old goalposts got moved with 1 hour to go and no other options flannel. You can't tell me there isn't a better option out there for that kind of fee.

I was surprised at the link in the first place. Best result, whatever happens, is that we are playing them not the other way around... but I'm far from confident on that. All I see from this link is Rose to Man U.
