If he has torn his hamstring this is a very serious injury. It is an injury that leaves a weakness for years.

True, if this has happened then it's a real shame for Barkley as he has had very serious injuries before that nearly wrecked his career. I honestly can't see us signing him if this is the injury he has suffered, it's possible he will take months to recover from it and when he does come back he could end up having recurring injuries. It's crap but we have to be rational about it. Having said that, if our medical team think we can manage it then I'd still like him here but it depends on that injury.

If the injury is as bad as being suggested,he is of no value at all to Everton as he will go for nothing in 12 months time.
If we believe the injury is manageable we should offer them £10 million payable after he has had 20 premiere league games and another £20 million after 40.That way we are only in for his wages worst way and Everton will be 20 million better off if he recovers.

I'm bored because I have been saying the same thing since mid June. I'm still yet to see anything other than the Mail article(and derivatives there of) regarding this "serious Injury". Nothing from Barkley himself, and nothing at all from Everton. No more updates on this unless I actually hear something has changed.

That's £30 million, which is probably more than we wanted to pay without a serious injury.

But fingers crossed there is no serious injury.

I'm gonna stick with Trix on this one, he's been confident from the get go , he's Poch's no 1 target & I'd be shocked if he's not a Spurs player this week

I think our bid will need to go in tomorrow to get things moving on this. I really hope we don't risk just deadline day - we have depth in defence and midfield but have absolutely none with attaching players

was thinking that the problem may be that he can't pass a medical right now which could cause insurance problems?
Maybe not just a thought.
Wondering if the injury also has Levy/ Poch fearing he would not be match ready until winter and if that is the case why not wait and divert some funds to a player who can come in now?
Perhaps solution is a lower fee (15 million) with a high sell on clause, say 30%, so if we sold him in a year or two for 50 mill, the toffees would get a total of 30 to our 35 or so...

30% sell on clause? Levy would rather by brutally decapitated piece by piece than take that. I suspect it will most likely include some guarantees of additional money if he makes X appearances for us this year/season.

It would appear from this:-

That our bid has been accepted for some times even if we are tying up loose ends.

If he is as thick as two short planks at least he has enough sense to take good advice and come to the mighty Spurs.

I mean Trix and most of the ITK have been saying for ages that this deal is done and it's just Everton holding out/hagling for whatever reason Everton wants to.
