You know the end of the window must be here when these names start coming out of the woodwork.

Last year Sissoko, this year Benteke and Origi.

Poch must be pulling his hair out with frustration.

I for one don't see too much wrong with this move if it were to come off. Surely he isn't a starter, but he is fast, athletic, and has PL experience.

That isn't to say I am ecstatic over the move, but I do think he would move ahead of VJ and I do think he would add some much needed running of the channels especially late in games.

One does have to imagine though that this could be a last minute panic situation because he has been out of the Pool team for awhile now and he probably was available all window. Maybe he was on the list of potential targets if Balde fell through...IDK, just guessing at this point.

But if it were to come off, I would welcome aboard and hope he could add some much needed versatility to our front line. It's not like he hasn't put some goals in in the PL, unlike VJ who basically plays like a wall in which to play one, two's with.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I'm confused because from recent (ish) ITK I thought that the club were pretty much pursuing the same targets all summer.

Reasonable price I'm on board with this. Starting 11 is set so we need options from the bench who offer something different. We keep asking for pace and power and we could potentially have Origi, Son and even Sissoko who could all benefit us at Wembley.

The late transfer philosophy won't lead many to trust based on what's happened before.

Alderweirld, wanyama, alli, dier, trippier, lloris, rose, Davies, eriksen

All relatively recent purchases all at incredible prices and some even "rejects" at other clubs (Alderweireld at atleti)

I'm sorry but anyone who doesn't trust levy and poch to make a right decision on a player at this point simply has an agenda(not aimed at you)

Whoever this 'fast/wing forward type' will be (as referred to in ITK) will be an indication of the Club's intent this season - to fans, players and the coach. Hope Levy gets it right...

I'm well and truly on the fence, you can't argue with our on pitch performances last few seasons and some of the additions are class. I do, however, understand those that question the last minute dash and emergence of bemusing targets last minute.

Sanchez would be a loan with no option. Not a Levy ideal. Furthermore, we do not need a player of his type as well stocked.
Well stocked perhaps, but players of his talent and skill set, we do not have. I get your point that it's not a levy deal as it would effectively be pointless after a year but we really do need someone of his skill set in my opinion.

FWIW. Origi only became available last week. Had he been available end of season, he would of been on our list. As you know, we wanted him 3 years ago, and Poch likes him among others. Does not mean it is a certainty.

I was not hip to that fact. That makes me feel better about him tbh.

Long as this is the case, I'm all for it. Plus it wouldn't hurt to add to our Kenyan contingent, even though he is Belgian born.

Strikes me as the kind of player for the right price that one of the ITK was talking about late last week. I have not seen enough of him to have an opinion, but he is young and Belgian so that would make me feel better if he was signed. If Poch likes him I am sure he had some feedback from our Belgian contingent, and they can certainly shed light on his abilities in practice and his character.

It seems like quite a number of players in recent times have made the big money to move to clubs like Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool and are now kicking their heels at a lack of playing time and lack of progress in their careers. Players like Batshuayi, Martial and Origi come to mind.

It seems that what Spurs have above all the competition is a coach that develops players. Look what he's done with Dier, Alli, Rose and more.

The Chairman needs at this time to make decisions that will keep Pochettino happy. Because if the coach gets frustrated and leaves then it's quite possible that some of the Spurs stars will want to leave also - and it will be that much more difficult to attract players to Tottenham Hotspur for less wages than the competition is prepared to pay.

Levy needs to make a statement of intent in who is purchased this window...

So he only became available last week?? So our no1 option was balde. What about option 2 or 3? Surely better than Origi?? He's not good enough to get into liverpools team but he is ok for us? Something very wrong here.

Is not good enough for us and never will be imho, such a poor player with the ball at his feet and poor finisher the only plus is his speed.
