It's not even him, is it?

Best part of today was definitely Janssen, either intentionally or unintentionally, sending a long pass straight into the balls of a groundsman in the pre-match warm-up.

Any point of him being at the club? Poch clearly has no faith in him.
Sadly (because I wish Janssen had been better), his role in the squad is almost like a substitute goalkeeper: we have him on the bench as a totally last resort contingency in case of an injury during the match, but he clearly isn't considered a tactical option to try and turn a game for us.

People can bang on all they like about how difficult it is to find someone decent who is happy to back up Kane (and there's some degree of truth in that), but it is depressing as all hell that we have someone in Janssen's important position who Poch clearly doesn't rate highly enough to be anything other than a body to make up the numbers on the bench. (As opposed to someone Poch thinks can actually make a difference from the bench, like Son.)

As someone else said: what is even the point of having Janssen if we don't play him when Kane is misfiring. Why are we not buying a striker that we can actually sub in when we need a goal? It makes no sense to keep Janssen if Poch would rather play Kane for 90 minutes.

We're not even being linked with any strikers, that's the worry. I don't see us bringing one in these last few days of the window when we've had 3 months. Why do we do this to ourselves?

Are our scouts that bad that they can't find someone in all of World football better than Janssen who would be happy to warm the bench for some decent money?

I mean, we can try, but there's no guarantee he'd be better than Janssen. Hindsight is a wonderful thing - Janssen seemed like a fantastic purchase for most people at the time.

Surely the last nail in Janssen's coffin was when Poch threw Sanshez in at 1-1 With 2 minutes to og rather than put Janssen on. When you rather put on a CB than a pure number 9 in that scenario you'd have to wonder what's the point of having Janssen around at all.
