Yeah but they could be named on list A to get others eligible

Also, rose shouldnt count as club trained when we bought him at 17. If we had purchased Sessegnon, it would have been an absolute joke that we could have listed him as club trained in a few years.

Rose qualifies as 'home-grown' (HG) as he was with us for more than 36 months between the ages of 15 & 21. You can only have 17 none HG in squad so even if we added Winks to List A we couldn't add Lamela or Janssen.

He'd fall under part 2:

What's a 'locally trained player'?
There are two categories:
1. Club-trained players – players who were on a club's books for three years between the ages of 15 and 21;
2. Association-trained players – players who were on another club's books in the same association for three years between the ages of 15 and 21. No club can have more than four association-trained players among their eight nominees on List A.

Sessegnon would go under part 2 for three seasons but if he joins us in January or next summer he'd be a part 1 "club-grown" player when he turns 21.

I'm not sure EUFA Website is complete yet.
Us and City both show just 21 players, with no B list.

Chelsea squad shows 4 B-List players among their 24, while Liverpool have 32 players listed, including their B-List.

Don't want Janssen cup tied for January transfer window, with all those CL teams desperate for his services...Well maybe not

We have juan foyth included. Wouldnt he count as a b list player as he's 19?

So many doubters writing us off before a ball has been kicked. Would love it so much if we prove them all wrong and qualify from this group.

So even if Lamela is playing again by Oct/Nov he'll play no part in our remaining group games.

Makes the decision not to get another creative player in look even more of an oversight.

Will Dele count as home grown at the club next season when he's been here three years or did he join up a window too late?

Dele didn't need naming as he (along with Winks) qualifies for the B list. They don't free up any spaces though so doesn't make much difference which list we name them in.

If I understand the rules correctly, we can name up to 25 players in the A list, and 8 of those spots must be Club Trained or Association Trained, grouped as Locally Trained (LT). For sake of ease we'll refer to the other list as Foreign Trained (FT)

LT – Alli
LT – Davies
LT – Kane
LT – Rose
LT – Trippier
LT
LT
LT

FT – Alderweireld
FT – Aurier
FT – Dier
FT – Dembele
FT – Eriksen
FT – Foyth
FT – Gazzaniga
FT – Llorente
FT – Lloris
FT – N'Koudou
FT – Sanchez
FT – Sissoko
FT – Son
FT – Vertonghen
FT – Vorm
FT – Wanyama
FT –

Means we actually have one remaining slot right now, so could in fact name Jannsen/Lamela now.

I agree. I've counted it through a few times and cannot see why we cannot have another foreign player. ie. Jansen .Going by the rules we are allowed 17 foreign players. It is squad of 25 less up to eight club trained either with us or another team

It's all a bit strange because we seem to be being penalised for having home grown players, ie players who came through our Academy and have first team experience, but are under 21. Surely the whole point of the rule is to penalise clubs who don't grow players through their Academy.

If we'd kept one of Onomah and CCV, both legitimate first team squad players who've developed through the Academy, plus Winks, then that would have been two proper home grown, club trained, players for a total of four (with Kane and Rose) which could have enabled us to have a CL squad of 25.

But I'm assuming that under 21s have to be named on the B list, and this feels against the spirit of the home grown rule.
