As much as we need a Zaha or a Barkley, I still reeeeally want Sanchez. Would win us the league and give us some long awaited revenge re Campbell. And yes, I’m also very aware it will never happen.

Re the punditry, I didn’t mind Hargreaves. He was complimentary about us all night and in general. It was quite nice to beat a top European club without any mention (during the game) of how we’re gonna lose all our players.

Sometimes I think Hoddle tries too hard not to be biased and ends up coming across as slightly anti. Like sending your 6 yr old son off for a slight push whilst being a stand-in ref. We all know he’s Spurs through and through, I just want to see him whip his cock out and start wanking when asked if he thinks we could win the CL.

I noticed that after the game, when the blonde presenter ask about the prospect of us winning the CL, he didn't really answer it, just said he thinks City have the best chance of the English clubs.

Christ on a bike. You might remember how he lost the England job just for listening to Eileen Drewery? Trust me he'd be in much more trouble if he did what you suggest, they might even sack him as a pundit! :cautious: :p

Yeah but he’d go out in style and get an even better reception from the fans when he’s interviewed by Coyte at half time in the new stadium. Plus, Hoddle talking with his cock would still make more sense than Owen or Savage.

Maybe been seen already but just caught this, can't say I disagree with much of it.

Agree with some of it, disagree with most of it. Neither Wright nor Redknapp knows anything difinitive about our pay structure, their opinions are just conjecture and that goes for the rest of the media. Has anyone in the media actually asked any of our top players about their finances? I believe the answer is 'no' and any player that was asked would probably tell them to mind their own business.

True, but I can't fault them for thinking it to be a possibility. They see Walker, probably earning more than double of any of our players, most likely about to win a PL title after one season, playing with world class players and will most likely see more world class players coming through the door every season and pretty much guaranteed CL every year. I'm just saying, we may need to start giving these top players more of a reason to stay and not go to these bigger clubs when they come knocking.

We have things that can help sway a player to stay, great training facilities, fantastic new stadium coming, a brilliant manager and a very promising current team that should be challenging at the very top but if they're getting paid peanuts and have other teams wanting to double or triple their wages it could mean very little. Money talks in football most of the time.

Redknapp really did fucking wind me up in this, clearly has an axe to grind with the club and couldn't be more ignorant regarding our pay structure if he tried.

When there is no story you can guarantee Sky will whistle one up.

That's what they do, it suits their narrative.

They are creaming themselves now that we are on the edge of the top 6 and the righteous famous 5 are all
above us like the grand old days.

I love the way they call all their pundits 'football experts'.
I guess 'retired player who now regrets not seeking sound financial advice' doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

Fuck sake.. Why couldn't the narrative be we are a well-run club punching abover the packs, coming from 5th to 3rd to 2nd under Poch management with a wonderful pool of talents from the academy? It's just so super fucking frustrating so little credits given to us are as much as those piling criticisms when we went wrong. We are not even at relegation position, dipped of form yes, but hell no as bad as Jamie called it!

Stop the bullshit of blaming of the club running, penny-pinching from Levy and wage structure. We had a strict wage structure yes, but players signed for us happy. I remembered Poch once saying those players were happy when signing the contracts. They may be not well-paid compared to other clubs, but please, they are not shouting naked everyday complaining of not earning enough yeah?? Is getting sick of Jamie and co pundits keep on implying those players needed more money to be happy and then can play well.

We are quietly doing our business. Everyone just like to poke their asses in and being a busybody. We are not even super hyping on us rising as a club under a tight budget. Should we? No! We are more poise than that. So seriously what's wrong with us controlling a certain wage structure? I am very sure those so-called massive spending clubs are secretly under investigation from UEFA and FIFA for FFP regulations. They are the trend-setters, but doesn't make they legit and all should follow. We are already improving with times and raising the income-ceiling. That, is proper.

Jamie sounded so concerned and had such love for us, until he mentioned he had not been here for long enough to feel we are his club... OH FUCK OFF then! And really it is not a business of his to feel so agonised when whether we are so close to reaching the top or not...

That denial of love for us, shaking of head, 'no, no, no, no, no'.. Sickening. Reminds me of his dad when they couldn't answer straight.

Redknapp has the IQ of a remedial budgerigar.

We’re the 11th best paying club in the world. There are 6 clubs who we will never be able to match financially - Real, Barca, United, City, PSG, and Chelsea. And even if we did match their wages they’d just raise theirs even higher.

Maybe when the stadium comes online we can match up with the Arse, Liverpool, Juve and Bayern. So really our rigid pay structure the dense pundits go on about is noting of the sort.

Surely he knows more about it than most, his dad was manager relatively recently after all...

If he knew more about it he wouldn't be so ill informed, what he's suggesting that we break our wage structure and pay beyond our means, basically spend money we can't afford, it's such a shit narrative perpetuated by ignorant people who fail to refuse to understand what is happening at Spurs.

I agree with you but I also agree with Redknapp that we are so close to propelling ourselves into an elite club but we are also so close to it falling apart. With it being Spurs, we all know which way it's going to go. :(

I thought he came across fairer than normal :ROFLMAO:

He actually seemed not to be sticking the knife in as much as usual from what I saw.

Doubt it. It's a completely separate group of players.

The only way Redknapp would know, which he admitted at the start he hadn't done, would be to ask the players themselves. He's guessing and stringing along the narrative that thick football fans from all over follow, because it's ramped down their throats, rather than actually looking at the bigger picture and what we pay (11th highest payers in the world) and more importantly, can afford to pay.
