Glad to see nobody is overreacting from one post again.

Are people really overreacting.... A respected ITK drops a hint on a player, who many barring you perhaps have expressed concern on his contract situation and are adding to the discussion.

I never get this type of a post wtf... We are on a internet forum.. Where we discuss player's.. If we react or overreact its because this exactly the place to do it. Should we all just waltz into the thread and sing Merry Christmas perhaps.. Maybe discuss the shitty english weather.
Right now i can go have a strong coffee and breathe again.

Hoping the man city interest in Umtiti is true and not just a journo stab in the dark.

Surely they wouldn't want both???

They play different positions don’t they? Umtiti is a fullback.

It's citeh they want all the players :cautious:

In fairness pep and jose have performed quite the double act on us this season
Why be better when you can make your rivals worse with your bottomless pot of gold .

To be fair to City they do like to buy younger players, so if Umtiti has a clause I could see them do it.

I may be naive but I also think Toby would not kick up too much of a fuss if we made him stay for another 18 months.

I think the major European clubs need to get together and agree not to sell their players to Man City and PSG. It's the only way that European football is going to be able to curtail these nation state football clubs going forward.

I'm sure there was some chat about it in the summer.

Besides, I'm not buying the fact that Man City want Alderweireld. They are heavily linked with Evans again this window and if they get him then they won't be going for Tobes as well.

I've heard a pinch of salt goes quite nicely in coffee.

Also, 12 pages of variations of 'oh no!' and 'woe is me' isn't really a discussion as much as a collective shriek.

could be his first transfer error since carrick....and would be a big one

Walker was that error, it showed the way for others. I hope it won't be the moment we all look back on before next season starts,,after two or three others have left, in effect a watershed for the dismantling of our promising squad.

I still think Toby will get that deal, and stay, but for the first time ever was really encouraged by the Sanchez business- that for me signalled that Levy understands he needs to pay in this market to keep the punters coming along and paying top dollar in the new stadium. Time will tell.

Being concerned is one thing. Of course it’s reasonable.

But lots of people appear to have concluded that he’s definitely going, that it's a fait accompli, that any contrary interpretation is hopelessly optimistic

On top of that they’ve then built an entire critique of our transfer policy and the club’s finances, and worked out what our plans and ambitions are for the foreseeable future, including ticket pricing and the development of academy players.

I’d call that a slight over-reaction, wouldn’t you?

Umtiti is all of 6ft. Barca’s best defender isn’t saying much as none of them are particularly good at defending.

I really think thats harsh on him. His defensive game is very solid imo, and his attitude and determination is top class. Would fit right in with Poch and our English lads

Maguire would be dreadful in the type of high back line Poch plays.

I’m hoping it signaled the club were planning for his possible departure and had the foresight to bed his replacement in a year before he leaves. That’s how to do things

The way they have so much of the ball it doesn’t matter. He’s played fernandinho there quite a bit during games.

History suggests its a fait accompli.. Factored with him not signing a new deal.....so no its not a over-reaction. Its there for all to see.
