But money really doesn't guarantee anything. City have been able to utilise it, but look at AC Milan, who spent close to 200 million last summer.
It doesn't guarantee you success, but it guarantees someone success

Heard this for the last 4-5 transfer windows as far as getting top four is concerned, including Everton ffs. It's not all about spending money.
And if you can't see that we're still a long way off competing with them financially, then I can't help you.
But what I don’t understand is we don’t even try to compete... we know we will have much greater revenue in 2/3 years so what’s the issue with making good investments now. No company will pay massive commercials for naming rights etc if we are in the Europa
The policy makes no sense... look at the players we have missed out on that are now worth double. I see nothing from Levy or Pochetinho which tells me that it hurts them when we don’t win anything. Look at Conte and Mourinho get millions spent and still push their board to spend more. That’s because the hate losing.
I hate the “I am happy with the squad and I am calm” press conferences as it strikes me as satisfaction.
I think we’ve reached the natural limit of Levy’s low risk/high reward transfer policy. It’s brought us from mid-table to Big Six, which is a huge achievement, but it won’t take us any further, and won’t deliver the major trophies we all crave.
It’s time to start spending money on second tier talent (I am aware we can’t compete with City or Utd), rather than obsessing over sell-on value. The market has changed, and so have the expectations placed on the club. Levy has been caught cold by those changes imo, and needs to catch up fast.

We're not backed by a billionaire oligarch willing to spend endless amounts of cash or the best commercially run sports team in the world backed by a billionaire family willing to spend endless amounts of cash. If you're going to take issue with someone, take issue with Lewis. Neither Levy or Poch hold the pursestrings, and you're purely speculating that you see nothing from them when we don't win anything. I'm sure they don't love it but are realistic with their set of circumstances. It would be awful for our club if they made their dissatisfaction there for the supporters to see, as they'd both most likely be fired.
We currently don’t spend at the level of most other clubs in percentage terms. Net spend is the lowest in the league and has been basically zero for the last five seasons. Even a net +£30 a season million could have pushed us on ...
But we basically spend no money that’s the point... The club should be honest and just say “we saved £300 million over the last five years instead of buying players as we needed it for Stadium” and the set expectations going forward by saying “don’t expect any increase in transfer spending while we pay off the Stadium for the next 3/4 seasons” etc....
Arsene said today that arsenal can't compete with the Manchester clubs for transfers because the bank restrictions on the stadium!
That's scary they're still paying it off, I'll be a middle-aged man before spurs can spend without selling if we're similar :0
No one can compete with Manchester clubs no matter what. Think Arsenal have been spending about 50m net each season on average. I'd take that to be honest, at the minute we're just spending what we earn so an extra 50m spent on top would massively improve this squad.
Where will that come from?

Personally I would probably prefer him anyway.Being linked to David Neres as an alternative now, he would be a brilliant signing too:
Bruno Andrade@brunoandrd
David Neres (Ajax) appears as an alternative in Tottenham; Negotiation for Malcom (Bordeaux) to be continued
