Would be remarkable if Poch turned down Madrid to stay with us. And would set a great example to our players. I expect we'll have an entire summer of Kane & Pochettino to Madrid for $$$$$$$$$$$$ all over the media

It depends on what he see's as a real achievement in terms of his managerial career, is it a real achievement to win La Liga as Real Madrid manager or even the Champions League? It's an expectation - just ask the manager they're supposedly about to sack having won the CL 2 years in a row how that's now regarded by the hierarchy at Real.

Poch no doubt has more money personally now than he'll ever spend and will continue to get well paid by Spurs should he stay. For me some people feel the sense of satisfaction/achievement by accomplishing something that's a real challenge (like winning honours with Spurs) as greater reward than $$$$$$$$ and inflation of their ego by being able to say 'Look I've won La Liga and CL with Real Madrid aren't I great' a la someone like Jose.

To me Poch strikes me as that kind of guy, provided we're matching his ambitions in striving to fulfil is goals. For me if he were to take the Real job he'll be taken the easy way out and a couple of years later will no doubt be gone.

Stay strong Poch! That said I could be completely wrong...

If he leaves for Real I am going to cry havoc and unleash the dogs, hogs and badgers of war.

Although having said that...Harry Redknapp is currently available...

Poch really doesn’t have to worry - one of the Real and PSG jobs will be available every summer for the forseeable future too. It’s not like he has to fret about it being now or never.

Why the hell would you want to swap the seven sisters road for one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world

Non story. Let’s move on

Unless all of a sudden, Enic decides to sell Spurs, Pochettino won't be going anywhere. He is so entwined with everything Spurs. For those who were criticising the publication of his book, read the OS where he is seen spearheading the "Passion 4 Coaching" project which is funded in part from the proceeds of his book.
Does Maureen do anything for the local communities where he's been?

Thank god we have a very, very decent human being who also happens to be a very, very good coach and manager.

Oh look, destabilising shite being published leading up to matches against Man Utd and Arsenal...

Between this February and May, I'll be looking forward to the slew of contract extensions for our top players and Poch and his back-up team. It should, at least for the short term, silence the talk about them leaving for bigger clubs.

I seriously wish Balague would just shut the fuck up already. I don't get it, is he supposed to be Pochetino's personal assistant, his boy toy, or what?

He's made a career out of pretending to have inside knowledge on everything to do with Spanish football, having written the Poch book he feels empowered to play on it...

Thing is that the Real Madrid job becomes available relatively frequently so it's hardly likely that Poch, being an intelligent and one would have to assume, patient guy, is going to panic and think "oh my goodness, I really have to take this job now or that's my chance gone forever!"

I dont know why anyone would want the Madrid job - expectations are unrealistic and any mistake will get you crucified in the media. There is zero loyalty at the club for coaches or players.

Had an interesting thought here and wanted to see what everyones thoughts were. Where does Poch stand in terms of current coaches in the world. Was reading the reports of Lucas wanting to come and play under Pochettino and made me wonder where everyone thinks he stands in the coaching world. I've got to think Pep is regarded as the best but after that is there an argument for Poch?

Only with Spurs tinted glasses. Poch is still young and hasn't won anything.

Of course, and I wasn't trying to say I think he's second best just wondering what the opinion was. Conte, Mourinho, Klopp, Wenger all have more trophies but I don't necessarily think that makes them better managers in this moment in time.

I hate the douche but Mourinho has more trophies than anyone, at least in Europe.

Did anyone actually read the Sky article? It says that Poch is Real’s target, but dont believe Poch has any reason to want to leave. How can we angry about that?
