I thought Newport were absolutely excellent. Tactics spot on for most of the game. Solid, no nonsense defending in numbers and seemed to consistently find an outlet up front

Fair play to Newport. They fought really hard but I've no idea what we were up to. We looked like a rabbit in the headlights for much of that. Magic of the FA Cup?!
Nah, mate. Apparently it's only 'magic of the cup' when it happens to someone else... Never quite understood that.

Trippier says hi

Man city mugs for paying 50m for trips understudy I was repeatedly told in the summer...lord have mercy.

I'd sell in a heartbeat, rather kwp learn on the job when aurier can't play .

The cm really needs massive improvement. No point buying malcom, moura, or any other attacking talent when you've got that dembele, dier, wanyama, and sissoko Quartet of terror to choose from whose passing game is about as adventurous as a ham roll

Think we would have won if we'd just played one striker, even if Kane was rested. Never mind though, bring on Utd.

Sissoko was poor as usual. But somehow, Wanyama, Trippier, and Foyth were all worse.

Wanyama especially. He is still well off the pace.
You having a laugh. Foyth was probably our best player today.assured first touch, rarely gave the ball away and got forward on occasion 2nd half

Hats off to Newport, they took the game to us and for some reason so many of our players looked lost! But on another note Roger East is an absolute tool too.

Agree on Trippier but Wanyama is a very good player; he was immense last season and is clearly struggling for fitness.

Sissoko is a brilliant athelete but as a footballer he is limited. Never looks in control of anything. Good person to have around as muscle.
If we have aspirations of trophies and Champions League then he’s not the level of player we need starting.
Llorente looks like old Father Time has caught up with him.
Without Eriksen and Lamela being the creative bodies we look plain ordinary.
Credit to the team by getting out of jail, let that be a stark warning to them that trophies have to be earned.
