I wish Poch picked midfielders than can release the ball quickly and accurately, especially in a game like this.
That’s rubbish, City had De Bruyne and Gundogan, some of the best passers in the league, and Liverpool pressed them and forced turnovers the same way.

This match is all about tactics, and Poch’s lack of them.

If we can get some composure in the 2nd half we can get something out of this. We need to be more direct

I think we've done ok considering conceding early. Much better showing than last year, stating the obvious but we need the next goal, get that and we can win, we are dominating possession.

We have been ok in spells but some of them look like strangers at times and are dawdling on the ball too much in our own half and sometimes our own box.

The obvious change is Aurier for Trippier but I find myself agreeing with Lee Dixon of all people who is on my stream as he is saying we need to hit it in the wide channels earlier and more often. For that reason I'd stick Winks on at some stage and even consider Llorente in the last 20 mins or so.

We are still in it and I think we have a goal in us.

Aurier for Trippier

Dier's gone into hiding, Son can't control the fucking ball, Dembele needs to do a due diligence before every pass is made, Sanchez is a rabbit suffering from headlight-apnea and you think swapping Trippier for a player who's even less composed is the answer ?

Teams that win at Anfield soak up the pressure and hit on the counter.

It’s not fucking rocket science.

Poch getting it wrong in the top 6 away games is getting fucking boring.

Please change it at half time.

For all his positives as a defender, Sanchez is an utter liability playing out from the back against teams like this.

I'd take him off for Wanyama at the half and move Dier back.

Fucking Dier though. He was so calm and cool for almost all of that half but that one fucking error.

Big Dier mistake - but why does Lloris stay practically on his line when it's clear Salah is clean through??

Our play when out of possession was just about as bad as I've ever seen it under Poch. We were completely rattled by the early mistake from Dier and never managed to regain our composure.

I would say that we need to sit back and invite them onto us and try to hit them on the counter, but having the lead they have no reason to open up and leave gaps to exploit. That early goal completely fucked up our ability to execute the obvious game plan.

Hopefully Poch can get them focused again at half time, at least we're only down one and can change the game back in our favor in an instant.
Klopp won't sit on a 1-0 lead imo, reckon we should give it 10/15 minutes with one or two subs and if it doesn't work then try to invite them onto us.

First thing we should try is to get one of the midfield trudgers off though, preferably Dier.

I keep saying it, but we don't know what Poch's tactics were before we went behind. Blame Dier for the fact that we have to chase the game, not Poch.

Its shite we messing around at the back and out numbered in midfield at Anfield its totally the wrong tactics... They are pressing us high as expected and we putting Sanchez under pressure. Should have left Alli out and gone with an extra midfield player to protect us and play a longer game on the break. Trying to be clever again unfortunately

Well apart from the fuck up for the goal we have been very good. We have not conceded any clear cut chances and have had a lot of the ball. OK we have not created much but the amount of the ball we have the chances will come. Definitely a better away perfornance than at man u, arse or man city.

It really hasn’t been better than last year, if Liverpool had been less wasteful with one of the plethora of chances we’ve coughed up the match would be over.

Dawson, bentaleb, Walker and now Dier . Nothing changes and Poch doesn't learn at all. Im bored by his tactics away from home against the big teams.. Predictable and suicidal.
