Absolutely doesn’t need replacing just yet
Replacing no but a long term replacement/and imminent cover is needed this summer.

Fekir would be the best back up striker/AM option for us IMO. I don't think it's realistic though, but no less realistic than Radford, Werner, Mertens and more realistic than Griezmann.
Alcacar would just whither and die here, as he's a pure number 9 type. Why would he swap Barca's bench for ours, etc?If Griezmann goes to Barcelona maybe someone like Alcacar is worth a punt? Rashford is (as has been said) ideal, young and hungry and will push everyone in that squad. Will not happen unfortunately.

We need another Son type forward, can play wide, but maybe with a bit more strength and presence, so can play with their back to goal too when needed.
This seems to make sense to most fans on here, i'm presuming the club too given Janssen's loan and Llorente nearly being offloaded in Jan.
Who fits the bill out there at the moment though? The description is basically a Suarez mk 2 IMO minus the racist outbursts i hope?
Double that mate. Their CEO has already been comparing his value to Ousmane Dembele.Leon Bailey would absolutely tear up the league in our setup.
No way Leverkusen sell for less than £50m though.

I don't like to usually get caught up in hype and hyperbole, but this Frenkie De Jong kid is mind blowing. 20 years old, and his composure, vision and control are mind blowing. This guy is not just the successor to Moose, he is the heir apparent. I believe ITK said we were looking at shopping in our favourite candy store again in the summer, and I really hope Frenkie is who we have been looking at.
If your not a fan of pointless music scores on videos please mute. (I muted after 5 seconds)
I am now on record saying I would love Frenkie de Jong. Great video. Worth noting that most Ajax fans seem to think he is out of position at CB and project him as a #6 going forward. Makes sense because losing the ball as the last man is disastrous, even if his take-on success is overall very high.
The talent is absolutely undeniable though, in my mind, and he is the guy I most want as a longterm Mousa replacement with potentially better passing range--hopefully with a few years to learn from the man himself.
So, speaking of strikers as back up to Harry Kane, what are the realistic options?
Old veteran, young and hungry player, or £70m forward in his prime (bit unlikely)?
Who do you guys like the look of out there?
Dembele was sublime and put on a masterclass on Saturday, but there was a point in the game(between 60-70 minutes I think) where he had the ball and Eriksen broke into space on the top right. It was crying out for a pass forward, a chip or even a toe punt but Dembele held onto the ball.
In those few seconds it summed everything up about what we need which is a central midfielder who keeps his head up and can pass forward. When Dembele plays like he did on Saturday I question the need for a defensive midfielder alongside him, but a Luke Modric or similar next to him would be a different story.
The paradox is that the better Dembele plays, the more evident it becomes that we must secure a potent successor earlier rather than later. When we see what Dembele can bring to the table when he is fully fit, and when we know that he never stays fit a whole season, it's clear that capable cover is needed.Absolutely doesn’t need replacing just yet

Wrong thread but i'd love to see our academy generating this sort of talent on a regular basis (it's arguable we are looking set to do so as we move forward) - Ajax are and have traditionally been a team built on this youth focus - hopefully long term we can really ramp up our own capability in this area.
