Most West Ham fans seem to have two main grievances:

1) The club haven't invested in players.I just looked at 3 sites with nett spend figures over the last 5 years. West Ham are between 6th and 10th with between £80 and 150 million. While Spurs are 18-20th with a nett spend of between £2 and £16 million. So West Ham do spend money but they just spend it badly.

2) The stadium deal is unfair. They don't seem to realize they got a £500 million ?! stadium for £15 million which included adding a ~£115 million (?!) roof just for football; while they pay less in rent than the running costs. It isn't so much that they made a bad decision, it's that the government should have done more for them. Their fans on kumb constantly say the government should just give them the stadium so they can own it.

It will be interesting when the fans have to renew their season tickets. Apparently many fans were forced to sign up for two years when they moved but that will run out this year.

Their home games vs Southampton and Stoke will decide who goes down.

I think they’re more bothered about the fact that the players they’ve bought with that money have almost all been bad investments and haven’t been players any of the fans have wanted.

On the stadium point none of them think “the deal is unfair” - they just absolutely hate the stadium, because it’s shit, they hate the lie the board sold them, they hate the treatment of them as “customers” not fans, and they hate that they left Upton Park, which they loved and wanted redeveloped.

It's going to be so, so fun the first time they come to NWHL, seeing the kind of stadium they could have had if they were run by Levy rather than the porn barons.

Another benefit of them getting relegated is that we will no longer face a team playing for their cup final, meaning more points for us. We have a very good record against newly promoted teams recently.

Still find it hard to accept the amount of points we've lost against these rags over the years.

One can understand the fan's frustration towards the ownership of the club but there's no need for that kind of scenes that happened yesterday.

Hope that the FA take this matter serious.

Agree 100%. They should face the harshest, cruellest punishment the FA can throw at them:

They should be forced to play Joe Hart in all remaining Premier League fixtures.

I'm still angry about the 0-3 under AVB. The bearded fool should have sacked there and then.

What an embarrassing moment that was. I was in the Tottenham fan pub in Sydney and one of their's had somehow got in. When they went 3-up he was singing chants, getting in ppl's faces and had to be booted out - which goes to show that pretty much all of them are like that.

Would love to know why we are seen as their rivals so irrelevant to me personally.
I have never ever, ever understood that. I've had West Ham fans going on about it to me for at least 15 years now. I remember one particular tool had a full blown argument with me because I told him the Spurs fans first and foremost will always care much, much more about the rivalry with Arsenal than any perceived rivalry with them lot. But apparently I didn't know what I was talking about and he insisted that most Spurs fans accept that West Ham are our biggest rivals. To this day I just don't get this one way delusion and obsession. It's really quite sad.

I'd agree with you but this thread is almost 700 pages long.
They are not our biggest rivals, i wouldn't really call them rivals but there is definite animosity between the two clubs.

Trevor Brooking....

"Just don't come to the games at the moment until you try to allow the players to get the points to stay up," he told BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek. "That atmosphere must never come back."

Fair enough from the clubs perspective I suppose, but many of the fans who feel angry are going to be season ticket holders who've already paid for their tickets. Are they going to be refunded if they stay away?

I was at the Lane for that and it was the worst game I’ve ever seen.
Was that the one where Ravel Morrison scored the last one?
And was that the year they beat us three times?

@riggi 's annus horribilis.

They're like the turd that won't flush that club.

Considering they only paid about £50 for their season ticket I think it's a bit of a cheek if they did. :angelic:

They will rake it seriously and say lots of serious words just the the “immediate full and thorough investigation” that West Ham themselves have promised. And then there will be a fine of £20,000.

Move along, nothing to see here.
