It's actually really feckin' tedious that people keep bellyaching about what gets said in the Match Thread. Unless it's racist, downright disrespectful or extremely unfair, don't pay it any attention. We're not having tea at Claridges!

When Spurs last won at the Bridge, Sinead O'Connor was top of the charts, Margaret Thatcher was in power and Nelson Mandela was still in jail.

Tell that to the kids today and they'll say "Who the fuck are that lot?"

That's how long it's been.

Thank you, Poch.

Post game I agree with you. But during the game if you say something stupid you deserve to be singled out as an idiot.

I just wish we would start games the way we perform in the 2nd half, it's quite baffling how we can look so bad then smash a team off the park! Another example today.

But the childish bollocks isn't? Seriously, how can one be tedious but not the other? So is your moaning about it (again) tedious?
Possibly, but one poster has been going on and on and on about it. Don't come in here if it's that annoying. Whatever's been said to annoy him hasn't got that person banned so let it go.

Dare I say Son and Lamela don’t necessarily get on that well?

They’ve had a bit of a go at each other a few times in games now and of course there was the famous penalty incident a couple of seasons ago.

But the shite that comes out after 15 minutes, 30 minutes etc etc is utter utter bollocks most times - I don't mind constructive criticism when warranted this place though takes the biscuit. Guess it is tiresome from both points of view.
/end rant

ANYWAY!

COYS! What a result.

We're normally the team that start well in these big games and end ups getting sucker punched. Glad we turned it round for once.

He was fine. The pass wasn't the only good thing he did. Opinions and all that but I thought your suggestion to bring him off at HT was OTT, sorry.
He actually had a very good game, lots of great tackles, good sensible progressive passing, and really helped us control the midfield.

Some people will never rate Dier, because some people will never 'get' Dier as a midfielder. Because he is a bread and butter player, not someone with anything that really sticks out. But he glides through the pitch well, blocks passing angles, covers CBs when they get moved out of position, and makes himself available for simple passes to relieve pressure on the defense. These are mostly things that don't get recognized by fans but are really important aspects of football.

Ball winners has to be one of the most overhyped positions, yes its great to see Palacios of Sandro win crunching tackles, but if there positioning isn't up to scratch the team suffers. You end up conceding more. Players like Dier defend mostly by positioning, you don't see it but it really helps the team. Carrick was really underrated defensively and you can learn a lot about the role reading him.
