It's actually really feckin' tedious that people keep bellyaching about what gets said in the Match Thread. Unless it's racist, downright disrespectful or extremely unfair, don't pay it any attention. We're not having tea at Claridges!

Is it not, by the same token, tedious for you to then comment on those comments?

If it's not racist, downright disrespectful or extremely unfair then no one is allowed to make any comment on any post, therefore you're breaking your own rule

I don't know why he gets so much shit he has proved and continues to prove just how fucking good a player he is.

I always embrace the "get dele off now posts" because more often than not he manages to make the posters look like complete idiots come the end of the match. He drifts in and out of most games but when he drifts in boy does he make a difference. He's one of those players that has end product even in the most difficult of matches. The ridiculous Lingaard v Dele discussion that is going on the media atm is beyond embarrassing. If they both become available for transfer at the end of the season Dele would go for well over double JL and would be wanted by every top team in Europe.

Dare I say Son and Lamela don’t necessarily get on that well?

They’ve had a bit of a go at each other a few times in games now and of course there was the famous penalty incident a couple of seasons ago.
Eriksen had a go at Son as well for passing to Lamela.

All I need now is for someone to karate chop Conte in the throat whilst he’s doing his Sky interview and this will go down as one of my favourite ever football related days.

Possibly, but one poster has been going on and on and on about it. Don't come in here if it's that annoying. Whatever's been said to annoy him hasn't got that person banned so let it go.
Perhaps we should start being a bit more ruthless with it then.

I think they’re similar to loads of players I’ve played with; winners who gesture, swear at, and get frustrated with each other on the pitch but are good mates off it. All social media with the pair of them together suggests they get along excellently.

On top of that, Son turns extra greedy when Kane’s not on the field, so I wouldn’t read much into it.

I really love the way that Pochettino looks after his players. He is all about the positives. His strong defense of Dele this week, his obvious nurturing approach means he gets the best from players. Look at how negative Mourinho is. Openly too. It just shows how positive mental attitude can help a team. (I've no idea how on earth United are where they are). But long live pochettino and his player management.

Hugo Lloris has made the third most errors leading to a goal in the Premier League this season with four errors.

Yeah he hasn't had his best season, but I'd rather have a solid keeper who makes a howler or two each season than a keeper I'm constantly unsure about. The latter probably costs more goals through poor positioning and doing things that are poor but don't actually count as errors.

He actually had a very good game, lots of great tackles, good sensible progressive passing, and really helped us control the midfield.

Some people will never rate Dier, because some people will never 'get' Dier as a midfielder. Because he is a bread and butter player, not someone with anything that really sticks out. But he glides through the pitch well, blocks passing angles, covers CBs when they get moved out of position, and makes himself available for simple passes to relieve pressure on the defense. These are mostly things that don't get recognized by fans but are really important aspects of football.

Ball winners has to be one of the most overhyped positions, yes its great to see Palacios of Sandro win crunching tackles, but if there positioning isn't up to scratch the team suffers. You end up conceding more. Players like Dier defend mostly by positioning, you don't see it but it really helps the team. Carrick was really underrated defensively and you can learn a lot about the role reading him.

Exactly. As spectators we can't see many things, certainly not as much as Poch and the team. So this notion that he makes some bad passes and needs to come off is absurd IMO. He's much more important than passing out from defence.
He's our destroyer and he's a warrior out there, whilst, as you say, his positioning is crucial to the balance of this team. He wasn't the problem in the first half, it was our shape and the fact we allowed Chelsea to have the space on the wide areas.

Dier has a never-die attitude and it's important to note that since he came to the club we've no longer been a soft touch. Love him for that reason alone.

Shame after this glorious day that people are slagging off other Spurs fans . So ugly.

We are ALL absolutely fucking delighted including those who made predictions during the match that weren't accurate .

All Spurs fans united on a fantastic day .

Martinez the Belgium national team coac doing media interview work?

That’s weird!

He worked for NBC in the US before he was hired by Belgium. He still does TV work for them on occasion.
