Can we please let go off the Bale discussion? It's not gonna happen.
Even if it could happen at this point i'm just tired of hearing about it and the increasingly convuluted ways people keep coming up with to persist the conversation.

You've been playing too much FM mate, Bale is a serial winner and world class player.

Imagine the confidence and knowledge he'd bring to the squad just by being there, let alone his footballing ability.
Great avatar.

Confidence ? No doubt. Knowledge ? What does that mean ?

Quality player and good signing but not for me. NEXT!

Why everyone still debating Bale? I can’t see it. He certainly has been pushed our way, and he certainly would love it to happen. But a almost 29, 60 plus m, and shady calf’s & hams?

My thing is who is paying 60m for him? Would we really be able to stand watching him play for Chelsea or ManU?

Ignoring the football side of things, in regards to the concern that a Bale purchase would not offer resale value, would the commercial boosts for the club by signing Bale potentially help offset his market depreciation? I'm straying away from the point here, but is there any estimated figures regarding the potential revenue streams derived by re-signing Bale? There is all this talk about PSG's reaping the rewards of Neymar's image rights, jersey sales, partnership/sponsorships and expanding fan base. Bale doesn't necessarily share the same stardom as Neymar, but for me he has to be one of the 5 most popular active footballers (Cristiano, Messi, Neymar, Bale, Pogba???) New state of the art stadium, new (returning) superstar, seems like a great opportunity for Spurs to be blasted into spotlight and get people filling up the stadium. Gareth's fame has certainly skyrocketed since he left us and eyes will be on him and Tottenham worldwide as we go into the next campaign.

From what I know, neither as things stand!
Surely nobody is going to pay that sort of money RM want for him. As you say, it won't be just us who see him as a risk even if Mo has had a hard on for him for years. China might have payed but they don't have the coin they used to due to the massive tax. I can see a Moura situation develop for him and ultimately go somewhere for 40 off mil. No doubt Bale is done with RM and RM are done with him.

My questions was really more of this can we really turn down Bale for 40m if we can agree on wages, if the other option is Chelsea or ManU? We know we can afford players at that number now.

Here's why signing Bale doesn't make much sense to me:

-He'd cost too much and we can't afford his wages.

Fin.

I think we won’t sign him because giving his next kid the initials MPB just doesn’t have the right ring to it.

It was also Dier fucking up s simple pass that should have allowed Stoke to equalise last week. Not for the first time either.

I’ll give you a thousand banal shuffling the ball from a to b for every incisive pass Dier’s made. And it’s one thing making a straight pass to Eriksen, it’s a whole other thing what Eriksen did next.

Jesus Christ BC, I'm not saying he's perfect, and he came on as a sub against Stoke and got caught cold not being up to speed but he was involved in everyone of our goals against Chelsea. Even Eriksen's first where he over hits the cross which Dele chases into the corner.

In no fucking way am I comparing his simple vertical pass to Eriksen's stunning round the corner ball but people suggesting Dier doesn't have a good pass on him are talking shite.

He's actually pretty progressive with his passing.

I actually knew you'd reply to that post lol

These things are never simple but a part ex involving Alderweireld would go a long way to offsetting the Bale fee. Given Toby wants to be spoon fed trophies and Real in dire need of a serious overhaul it’s not a far fetched suggestion.

I'd take Martial all day long over Bale.

The latter is not value for money in terms of suiting us coupled with his horrendous injury record.

OK to get away from merits of Bale..who's more important to us..let's talk left backs presuming Rose is sold.. let's do it country by country.. I'll start with Bundesliga & 3 who will likely be moving this summer & we can discuss the pros & cons of each..
Jonas Hector Koln
Philipp Max Augsburg
Juan Bernat Bayern

I'd love it if we signed Bale.

Jesus wept. He gets credit for fucking up a cross ?

He really isn't. His passing is extremely un-progressive. And by that I don't mean it never goes forwards, I mean it lacks incision.

I actually knew you'd reply to that post lol

Eric Dier is the new Xabi Alonso and there's nothing you can do about it.

You can't always be incisive from those deep central areas. Dembele was against Stoke, setting Dele free, because the space was there to play into....thats not always the case of course.

Dier moves the ball forward effectively, just like he did to Eriksen for our second goal, to the players who will offer the incision a bit higher up the pitch.

Thats progressive.
