Raiola is playing center back for Juve? That'll be good.
Would not be surprised. Juve's defense is very old and needs a refresh. I think they only have like 3 defenders under 30 in all. So they could/should probably splash for more and offer him a guaranteed spot in most matches. I would absolutely hate it as I rate him so high but if the fee and degree of Raiola involvement are true then humbug. I personally have not been impressed with a lot of our backup options linked as I think very few fit our system marginally better than just playing Dier there.Juventus have thrown their hat in the ring.

No other club has ever had, to all intents and purposes, a government to bankroll it.
No way Juve are spending over £50m on a CB.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I have a very hard time believing that Juve link.
They are opportunists in the transfer market in a very similar way that Bayern Munich are.
If people really investigated either club they’d realize neither really throw their hats in on big priced transfers. They typically offer quite good wages and the prestige of playing for either club as insentives to purchase players who are on a free or on their last year of their contract. They both also tend to rather poach players off of competing teams within their division as a priority as well.
Overall I think this link is a bluff to drive up the price or make us move quicker in negotiations to cave more to their whims.
While I would normally agree Juve did spend to get Higuain because they felt like they needed him. So they can and have done so before. Just rarely and even more rare on a teenager but their defense is going to be in quite a state of aging out and being targeted by PL clubs (especially Sandro). So I could see them saying they need this and going for it.I have a very hard time believing that Juve link.

Real Madrid.
PSG
None of it should be allowed really.
Yes Bayern’s transfer policy appears to be a proven way for success but still causes a lot of consternation. Fans and players alike tend to want to see big money rather than shrewd moves. Which always makes me laugh because fans of our own club seem to forget these things when transfer time comes around and would rather the club act like a drunkard at a strip club rather than a proven success like a Bayern or a Juve.I just had to look up their transfer records after that (good post by the way ).
Bayern Munich record signing is a lad called Corentin Tolisso, and he cost £37.35mil - https://www.transfermarkt.com/fc-bayern-munchen/transferrekorde/verein/27
Juventus record signing is £81mil for Higuain, but after him, the next most expensive was Buffon who cost £47mil - https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/juventus-turin/transferrekorde/verein/506
So you're pretty spot on about not throwing money around. I was and still am amazed that Bayern's record transfer is lower than ours.
So Tarkowski it is then..Calling it now, if LFC win the CL, he ends up at Anfield next season partnering VVD.
Spot on. 2 'managers' that clearly know / knew fuck all about a player or his ability. Professionals, you know.
Maybe Levy answers the calls from Toby’s agentSo who's our back-up if we don't get this guy?
I disagree.
The only evidence there is Higuain and that’s a complete and utter outlier of one single time.
Not to mention purchasing Higuain is a completely different transfer on several levels. Firstly Higuain is a goalscorer with a proven track record of prolific goal scoring that goes on for years. In fact when they bought him he had just broken a very old Serie A record for goals scored in a single season. Secondly as I stated Juve and Bayern like to poach their rivals. Napoli had been biting at Juves heels for awhile and this was seen as a good way to neutralize them. Thirdly it filled an immediate need for a prolific striker. The move checked three big boxes to satisfy the expense.
50 mil for a completely unproven CB who has won nothing? No. This is not how Juve does things.
The aging CBs is also a bit of a red herring. Being 30 doesn’t mean you’re now useless. Benatia, Howedes, and Chiellini should all have several very good years left. Plus they have Rugani who is a very excellent young CB who should get more playing time than he currently does. Not to mention Mattia Caldera who performer excellently at Atalanta this year.
So yeah Juve aren’t in this race.
Harry did move Rose and Bale around. Sherwood gave Bentaleb and Kane debuts.
Thank you, but I don't know what the heck that has to do with me saying that they both didn't have a fucking clue what they were on about when it came to Suarez?
Come on, too similar to VdV?
And a manager who had been in the game for not far off half a century didn't know a single thing about the ability of a player who had scored 111 goals in 159 appearances, over the space of 4 years?
Multi-million pound salaries yet blatantly couldn't judge the quite literally unquestionable ability that Suarez possessed. That's mental.
I was making a silly point fine they missed Suarez and was trying to balance one decision with another... I just feel uncomfortable when people dismiss experience football people with all their lifes in the industry as clueless because of one mistake.
