Wow. Genuinely surprised by that. Hamann has always come across as a decent guy whenever I've seen him interviewed etc.

He could mean he shouldn't have to apologise it should be granted and he should be supported by these fans who sing youll never walk alone but dont actually mean a word of it.

I can understand the frustration of all the Liverpool players and ex-players along with the media and the fans because up until Saturday nights final whistle the daft eejits had thought all they had to do was turn up and collect the trophy.

I understand the criticism of him showboating around town etc. (if that's true, I dunno), that's fair enough, but I don't really get where Hamann is coming from with the rest of it.

I don't think he was begging for forgiveness he was apologizing to the fans for letting them down. I actually thought it was brave of him to do that to be honest and I'm sure he just wanted to go down the tunnel and disappear but he stood up and owned it and faced the fans. Not sure what there is to criticize about that really.

As for "showing his suffering" I don't see how you can criticize Karius for that. I think if you looked back at the final whistle clips of every CL final ever then you'll see 11 players on the losing team showing their suffering. Don't really understand Hamann's point at all there to be honest.
