I shot the sheriff, but I didn’t shoot the deputy - we’ve secured a first choice target (martial) without selling Toby

If it is Leon Bailey, personally, he'd be my number one target this summer. Genuinely believe he'll be signing of the summer if he leaves, whoever he goes to.

I've done some googling using the names of fameous outlaws and 'sheriff' phrase

It turns out there was some guy named Jesse James Bailey and he was a sheriff. It's so absurd it can't be the answer though

The Eric Clapton version of I shot the sheriff was on the album “461 Ocean Boulevard”

Poch has stated that we now need to be brave & take risks.

New formation for next season 4 – 6 – 1, so we are selling Hugo & the other keepers and will be stocking up on midfielders (still with just Kane upfront) ?

Obviously most likely a random coincidence but Leon Bailey had a picture of him and Dembele on Instagram not that long ago. Hooking up with potential new teammates?? (even though Dembele probably is off :cautious:)

Jamaica has more to it than just reggae. It's too tenuous.

Bob (Mali) makes much more sense.
Bob Marley is Jamaican. He sang i shot the sherrif. Jamaican player good enough for us = Raheem Sterling or Leon Bailey. It’s obviously not Sterling so by process of elimination, the answer is Leon Bailey.

Why are we overthinking this, SC? This isn’t cabbages.

There's also the one in ten angle as well that fits with Bailey. Think it's the best answer so far.

That album also had a song called ‘The Willie and Hand Jive’ which must’ve been about mastabation. Not sure if relevant.

In fairness, the cryptics are usually a lot more complicated than this simple explanation. However, that is not to say that Leon Bailey wasn't the answer to yesterdays cryptic.

Herc has stated we are looking at two in Germany. There has been ITK that Pulisic is of interest, so Bailey would make sense as the second one. So perhaps those two plus Martial are the attacking options they are looking at? All would probably be around 50 mill or more, although I thought I read Bailey would be very hard to get.
