You wont get 10 chances against those teams though. Theres no end product. He gets 10 chances for Man City and scores 1 if he's lucky.
I'd play Rashford or Vardy with Kane.
Greedy fucker never cut it back for Kane once either. Just kept shooting from ridiculous angles.
Not a fan but each to his own.
Mate he gets lots of chances because of how he plays, and not just for himself, he makes space for others, and creates. Like setting up Young today, and setting Kane up for the goal.

If he plays against germany, we will create more chances for the team than without him.

Shit??
The sort where a decent team is going to tear us a new one??

This isn't a team/squad that's goes beyond the quarter finals. I'd actually be surprised if we get that far

Really?

I've quite enjoyed this match to be honest.

Each to their own.

In an England shirt, Rashford does the same.

After a bright first half, Nigeria woke up and sorted out their shape, matched up, got a bit of the ball, and all of a sudden we see the glaring holes in the line up and indeed the squad.

You've got five defenders, four attacking players, and the only one in the centre of the park a flailing Dier who is just chasing shadows. You might get away with this set up if you pressed high, or alternatively were disciplined in shape, sat back as a unit, and then sprung one of our numerous pacey players (and whilst we're on that - Sterling, Rashford, Vardy, and Welbeck, the same type of player, all in the same squad? Overkill) on the counter attack, but we've just done nothing and been open and allowed them to play through. Friendly or not, you have to have a plan, because if we were to stumble into the World Cup doing this then any remotely competent team is going to punish it.

Going to be a joy to watch if we have to attempt to control a sticky spell during games, and need calm composed players who can put their foot on the ball and make the correct choices......

But he creating those chances mate, his movement is superb. The point is Stirling gets more chances than other players, because he is a seriously good player.

Nigeria are not awful, very few teams who make the world cup ever are. This kind of arrogance does get to me. England at the moment struggle with pressure against any team.

I think Stirling i s one of, if not outright, England's best players. Its bizzare that a lot of England fans don't get that
Actually it amazes me that anyone who watches football thinks Sterling is one of our best players. I guess we'll have to disagree on that. I hope I'll be proved wrong.

Can't agree with you there mate. The boys played well, barring the low energy performance of the second half. Which was to be expected.

I wouldn't say anyone had a bad game. I'm.more positive now and less.despondent than I have been for ages.

To be fair we have that player that can put his foot on the ball and be composed in midfield in Winks. Such a shame he was out for so long as he is exactly what this England squad lacks. Welbeck out and Winks in and you have a pretty nice squad imo.

City Sterling may be one of our better players. England Sterling is lucky to get into the starting 11 in my opinion. He gets himself about a bit and that’s why he sometimes finds decent positions but he rarely makes any use of them when playing with England. His assist today was a simple side pass to Kane, which is fine but doesn’t mask the rest of the performance. If anyone creates a YouTube footage of his game today, I defy anyone to think it was anything but poor. He saw the ball a lot but could’ve had around 5 more assists/goals if he’d made better use of the ball. Was tackled a lot too. It was classic England Sterling, in my opinion of course.

If he plays like that in the WC then I hope he gets dropped for Vardy, though It would please me lots if he found his club form and showed the world what he can actually do.

Even then that's an awful lot of pressure to put on what is still a fairly rookie player. You should have options to choose from and then select the appropriate ones in the final squad. English football just has a problem in producing this type of player - those who just do the (often) simple, smart, efficient, correct things at the correct times and control the game.

We're gonna get embarrassed in this comp. tbh.

I normally agree with you on...well pretty much everything, but cant on this. We look much better than the team that went out to Iceland.

I think we'll get out of the group, probably with Belgium winning it. From that point on anything can happen but we have quite a few potential match winners in the squad. Players who will pull something out of nothing. Whether they do it remains to be seen, but I'm fairly positive about our chances.

I've always maintained since he was at Spurs that Carrick should have been getting over 100 England caps. For some reason this country seems to prefer the all action slippy G style.

Maybe Loftus Cheek can be that sort of player to spread the load a bit? I'm talking for the next 2 WCs beyond this one, not just the here and now. A bit like Glenn said, I'm not really sure what RLC is, other than a good player lol.

First half was fairly solid, but let's not disillusion ourselves here, Nigeria are one of the weaker sides, and we won't get half the chances in competitive games.

Thing is, I actually like the squad, but I just don't think they are capable of anything.
