He's exactly what we need.No player comes close to Dembele than him.

Do we need an exact replacement for Dembele though or someone more creative who can also chip in with goals from midfield?

I think Dembele is a fantastic player, but we’ve never really replaced Modric and I’d prefer we get more of a playmaker.

You do realize he's made the most forward key passes in whole of Europe?when I say he's like Dembele I mean he's Dembele with 10x the creativity and passing ability.

How many assists did he get as we lack for creativity and goals from central midfield. His movement, strength and skills are excellent but he’ll need to reign it in in the EPL as he’ll get flattened/dispossessed more than in France (lower tempo game).

Fair enough. I know nothing about him, just going by what I saw on that video clip.

I can see why we’d be after him as he does look similar to Dembele.

He's a lot more progressive than Dembele.

He has more forward key passes than any other player in Europe. By some way. It’s the french league but I think he is hugely underestimated by many.

It will never happen because Lyon won’t let it but £50m would be a great deal

He’s on loan at Lyon.

And they've activated their option to buy him.

Has he officially become their player yet? They could activate but he could refuse? If he is officially their player then this is a no go.

Tbh I don’t know but it’s 8m for them to make the move permanent and given his resale value, even if Lyon has no intention of keep by him they would still activate it.

But that’s academic anyway. He’s one of the best U21s in Europe and Lyon chairman has said they will keep him for their champions league campaign.

Can you imagine a midfield 3 for France of Kanté, nDombele and Pogba ? It has everything. Feeding Griezmann, Mbappe and Dembele.

With Laporte and Langlet struggling for starts. Players like Lemar, tolisso and Rabiot struggling for starts or even to make the squad ....

This word cup is too soon but France could dominate things for a while ...

But that all means nothing if we’ve turned the player’s head, clause is meaningless if he won’t sign the contract.

Pretty sure Southampton activated Toby's clause, but he decided to join us. You may well be right but until he's officially a Lyon player I dont think we can assume anything.

In theory you’re right but word in France is ndombele has already turned down PSG who tried that.

Time to move on sadly

Was there ever a proper link? I don't mean Talksport ..
Gossip in France about it, one of many...but nothing concrete ...

There’s no way our scouting hasn’t picked him up but we’ll have realised it’s not feasible ...

I'm not against us bringing Ndombele in as he looks good but I still think we'd need someone capable of dictating a game from deep, not sure he's that player.

Whether Haidara is, I don't know.

This is why I like Diawara, I think he has a bit of both in him. That energy, but also that poise and composure when it's needed.
Eikesen and Alli do pretty well in dictating our tempo though I understand what you mean someone in the middle I feel the way Poch sets up he prefers solid CM whereby the craft comes from off the main strikers.

Ndombele looks good and is the sort of player we should be looking out for, good strength control and a good level of skill... ( I was just thinking how the French are massive thieves )
