As I posted a while back. His YouTube high lights only show his success stories, not how many times he dribbles into trouble on the edge of his own box. Perhaps that could be coached out of him, I don't know but that was the concern when we were watching him.
Thanks for the info.

Surely that's easily fixed? Just say, don't dribble in the back 3rd of the pitch; if you do, you will be dropped. I think the positives by far and away outweigh the negatives given his age and ability. Would be insane to not go after him because of some dangerous dribbling imo.

I thought this was dead because Lyon were going to pay the 8 million to get him but I suppose if this is the same situation as Toby when he was on loan at Saints from Atletico then it's simple enough to scupper any deal to take him to Lyon.

Be interesting to see how it plays out. Looks a real talent.

Not just his dribbling it's his decision making in general. It's easy to say that could be coached out of him, but when you start changing a players natural game you can end up making him a lesser player. It's not always possible to do that anyway, look at Taraabt for instance. So many people on here prepared to make multi million pound decisions based on 10 minute youtube clip. Good job we have scouts that watch the players over and over again in the flesh cos I think we'd be bankrupt within a fortnight with some in here in charge.

I do love the way Sissokko's name always gets brought up like this. Same people never seem to mention the huge number of success's we have brought in over the last 5-6 years or so, just the 3-4 that haven't made it.

There is no pleasing people and people don't understand that something's don't work out as planned. But they all live perfect lives so I wouldn't worry mate

Low hanging fruit is all.

If scouting was an exact science can you imagine where all the teams would be?

We have been watching him closely. View i believe is, what fee they would want against the risk of everything Trix mentioned. If the cost would be in the region of say 15m opinion) I think we would possibly do it.

I personally would pay a little more but I get your viewpoint, it's very much a risk/reward scenario. Hopefully we take the decision to ride that risk, I have the view that he could be unique in world football.

Kind of what Trix is saying though. You've only seen a Youtube clip, our scouts watch these guys for hours.

Would Lyon be happy selling two of it's star players in the same season?and for only 15-20million?

Given the opportunities, we have a player in our ranks already who could do this.

Looks to me like it depends on whether we are dealing with Lyon or Amiens then.

Yes, of course. YouTube and stats. You can see from YouTube that his skills are unique and then add that to his through ball stats that have been mentioned then it's a good risk.

Taking into consideration the ITK saying it's a potential risk I imagine and I maybe miles out he won't be our first choice cm and maybe a fall back option of another. Depends how you see it though I suppose

I could see this but we have been linked with very few CMs thus far and to me he is by far the pick of the bunch I would deem getable (exception to SMS who is just insanely expensive). He has some core flaws, defensive decision making/head down, but he also has some incredible attributes in vision, dribbling through midfield, passing. Lyon were a very fun team to watch as a neutral this year so I watched more of their matches this year than I've ever watched before so maybe some of that is systemtic but he always really impressed me.

Eh, it's not just 3/4 though; I think it's been 50/50 which is still fine.

Njie
Nkoudou
Sissoko
Janssen
Llorente
Fazio
Chiriches
Yedlin
Soldado
Aurier

Dunno where to put them:
Chadli
Adebayor

Compare that to:
(Good)
Davies (for the most part)
Wanyama (amazing last season at least)
Trips (for the most part)
Lamela (when he gets a run at it but nothing that has compared to his hype at Roma yet)
Vorm

Great:
Toby
Eriksen
Son
Dele
Lucas (when he's actually played)
Sanchez
Hugo
Jan
Dembele

Sure we've signed some absolute gods within that period but the club's scouting clearly isn't amazing. It's very hit and miss imo.
