All I see is "Tottenham are also keeping tabs on Shaqiri, who is currently preparing for the World Cup with his nation.". Where is this, It's Levy buying him but Poch doesn't want him coming from?

Much sooner Shakira on my back.

The thought of her ripping the shirt off and swinging it aloft post scoring.

Hold on.

Firstly, if she was on your back, you wouldn't be able to see her swinging her shirt aloft.

Secondly, it's Shakira. What the fuck would you want her on your back for. IT'S SHAKIRA!!!

My bad.

Guess I've got it wrong when I hear my mates in the pub declare that this or that lass has rode them all night long.

Could be a tactic to use against the opposition I suppose.

Once top is ripped off, they may 'confuse her small and humble breasts as mountains '.

Metaphorically seeing it as a mountain too much to climb.

Dont mind me, I've spent last 20 hours travelling and am sleep deprived.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

I don't think he is a bad player, he has great ability, but he is the definition of a luxury player, moments of brilliance surrounding by loads of not giving a shit, he is not a fit for us in the slightest, 8 years ago maybe, but even then he is a poor mans VDV.

On topic...certainly capable of moments of magic in final third. Not sure if his all round game is at the level we require.

At the mooted price...squad maybe.

I'm in two minds about this one.
In todays market I reckon at 12 mil a player of his quality would be a no brainer!
He would definitely be a great squad player and would be a good alternative when we look to rest one of eriksen or Ali.

However I agree with earlier comments, it reaks of a Levy signing. If we're to change our mentality then we need to spend some serious cash on a first team player, not someone whos just going to compliment what we already have.

If we can get rid of one of our fringe players and replace with him then I think it would be a good signing, if he's been bought as an additional player then theres no point. If we're gonna do it, it definitely needs doing before the world cup starts, he could impress and have a lot more interest than at the moment.

Hate to be a pessimist but I can see this transfer being exactly the same as all our previous ones. We'll buy on the cheap and buy mediocre in the hope that they click straight away and become worldies ie Ali

For 12M I'd definitely take Shaqiri he is a very gifted player strikes the ball very clean and is a much winner. Shaqiri had played for some of the top clubs around Europe left footed. I bet if he came into our group he'd be very professional.

Personally I like him as a player he would get bums off seat in cameo roles from the bench imo.

I'm not even sure he would be a good signing for West Ham. That's how inconsistent he is.

No-one would set the world alight at stoke lol.
Attitude and being on a slide downwards in terms of his peak would be my concern. The idea he isn't good enough for us is just bollocks like has been said on many a match day thread if CE isn't playing we really struggle this guy has creativity and can still produce some magic. Having said all that I just don't see him as a poch player.
He isn't good enough. If he was good enough he would have got people noticing in the media and other clubs would be interested and no-one has.

Just because he has a clause for 12 million doesn't mean we should buy him as it represents good value in the football world today. He is also one lazy bastard! Stoke/Southampton is his level.
