I hate to say this, but this thread may be done.
If Perisic is also cover at LWF, so Son can cover CF, then it looks less excessive to aslo have Kostic.Indeed. With Davies being able to cover in emergencies the money would be better spent elsewhere. I think Kostic is a good player but was no longer needed once we gave Perisic a 2 year contract.
it is an issue as there is play time and wages to factor inBut if you can go from Reggie and Sessegnon to Sessegnon, Perisic and Kostic + £15m it's a non issue.
Agree with this, but playing devils advocate, Perisic can also play in the 2 n.o 10 roles and with 5 sub rule and given we got Perisic on a free… if we can sell Regiullon I could see why we might also want Kostic.Indeed. Possibly although Perisic not really a RWB mate, mainly LWB or could play in the Son or Kulu roles. If Spence doesn't materialize I could see the thinking of getting Kostic in and having him and Sess down the left with Doherty and Perisic on the right.
They'd need a younger rwb prospect at some point, but if the targets aren't great then this seems like a great plan B
now that is a shout!Going to keep beating this drum, but a player like Carrasco makes more sense now than Kostic. Still pretty damn versatile but also a good attacking option to compete with Son. Also, experienced.
At this point in time, maybe yes.Don't get the fixation with him
We got the superior player in Perisic
He is not that good in the first placeAt this point in time, maybe yes.
But in a couple of years Kostic will have developed further, while Perisic will be a spent force.
Isn’t Kostic like 30 lolAt this point in time, maybe yes.

Surely that's what we want to do with Sess? I think that's the key with Conte. Yes he can develop a player but he also doesn't want to wait for a player to develop to make an impact on the first team. It makes sense to have an already top player like Perisic in the time while Sess develops further. It means we have a team to compete now and a squad to continue into the future. At this point in time, maybe yes.

Yeah exactly. If you're Sess and you see Perisic coming in you're probably slightly annoyed but know you'll learn from a top player, get plenty of game time and there's a clear light at the end of the tunnel as Perisic is in the twilight of his career and gone in 2 years.Surely that's what we want to do with Sess? I agree on this. My original answer to Cookie Monster was only aimed at explaining why some posters could prefer signing Kostic.Yeah exactly. If Kostic comes and signs a 4 year contract then Sess's route to the first team is blocked for the foreseeable.
We had a portion of the fanbase who suggested Vincent Janssen at CDMI've noticed that the users on here have a strange obsession with trying to shoehorn players into positions they don't normally play.
Perisic just had the two best seasons of his career playing as a left-wing back. He knows the position, he's excelled in the position, and he's probably the best in the world in that specific role.
Let's sign him and not play him there
