Also no way should Willian be starting over Firmino. What's up with this Brazil manager, must be an idiot.

He's not even Brazil's best player. His hype and profile baffles me. He's clearly a good player, but he's not amazing. He's hardly on David Beckham levels of model like marketability, so where does the brand appeal come from? And I know it's throughout the game, but his play acting and gamesmanship is wearying... Diving and looking for cards in friendlys and Olympic matches?

Nah, a good many players i rate higher.

I think his pulling power is because of his exploits for Brazil when he burst on the scene so i would imagine with his pop star idol sort of levels over there with a population of 200 odd million thats a lot of shirts sold.

But i agree about his football, lots of tricks and flicks but i cant see him being a 40+ goal a season man like the other 2 dragging his club to glory.

That doesn't mean you can shove someone in the back at a corner.

It was such a horrendous shove that the Brazilians didn't even realise it had happened until they saw it on a replay. If a nudge is enough to get a goal disallowed then defenders might as well not bother standing their ground and flop over the moment they are touched.

It was enough to stop the defender jumping for the ball. It was a foul.

Would a PK be given if that was reversed? Probably not.

We already see shirt pulling etc in the box, week in week out in the PL, always goes unpunished. You can't have different rules depending on whether it's the defender fouling or the attacker, but that's often how it is.

This Brazil team doesn’t fill me with fear. Marcelo and Neymar are world class players but the others are just premier league standard. Jesus does have the ability to play at that level though. I think if we played them and were well drilled we could nick something.

No. He pushed him in the back which bought him a yard so he could head it in. The defender wasn't expecting it and it delayed or stopped his ability to jump

Doesn't explain why the other 4 Brazilians in the 6 yard box were defensively inept.

But that's not the point is it. They had cover, but that cover was pushed from under the flight of the ball which took him out of the game.
