I'm sure that's not right, I'm sure there are people who do.

Happiest I've been in some jobs has been my notice periodFor a player who wants to move away he seems a lot happy at united pre season training camp (Maybe he's happy because he knows he's joining sours ?)

People analysing a situation and expressing a differing view to you on a forum is not bed wetting. Our players coming back will be able to return and adapt quicker than a new player and I’m sure Poch is not happy about it either. Somebody already showed our points in aug the last couple years, if we have a good start and with the new stadium atmosphere who knows how far we can go. A signing like Martial or the unlikely Bale could easily come and help us challenge.Sure, I can imagine him saying "We would have won the league if I had an extra 1 week's training with Grealish"
Our non-WC players have only had a few days training so far. Most of our team has only just finished playing WC matches today, and Hugo won't until tomorrow. You could sign a player that has been in the WC and still not have him in training for a few week's.
Yes, it's Bed Wetting.
I'm not sure why people want to worry about something that the person who said it obviously isn't even worrying about.

People need to stop saying stuff like 'can't even get Grealish over the line'. It simply isn't true. Levy having a policy and not rushing to get things done so we fans can boast to our mates in the pub isn't a valid criticism. We are also nowhere near as slow in this regard as many seem to think, and you must live in a very Spurs-fan filled world to think we are. My mates who support United, Arsenal and Liverpool all say exactly the same about their business; United in particular have had some ridiculously drawn out transfer sagas in recent years. We'll see all of these clubs doing business in the coming weeks - if Levy is a joke for doing business near the end of the window, why does every fucking club in the land end up doing the same?
Hope to be proved wrong but seems a complete waste of time we won't pay the moneyDoes anyone deep down believe that we will actually sign this fella???

You know almost nothing about what it takes to complete a transfer, the kinds of problems that can hold up a transfer or Levy’s motivations when negotiating a transfer. What sanctimonious garbage. Stop spouting such inane rhetoric and look at the real world. Levy is slow; He hasn't got Grelish over the line. The other clubs you mention have all completed numerous transfers, we haven't completed one, not even one from a bankrupt championship club. What isn't true??
Does this fill you with confidence that big deals will be done. Fills me with dejavu.
What's wrong with giving the fans something to dream about while we wait for this supposed whale? Sometimes you have to risk something to get a better preseason in, or to appease the fans . There's a massive difference between doing a leeds and spending a bit extra to expediate transfers, or even to get them done at all. I need something to give me hope.
You don’t know what situation we would be in if levy had different negotiating tactics. You don’t bring any clear evidence to explain what things would be like so you don’t have an informed opinion. You just have a load of emotional hot air. It's a myth Levy's tactics help us but knocking off a few million by waiting to the last day of the window as it messes up our start to the season. Plus we miss out on targets and end up with worse players who are a waste of money. #falseeconomy

Therefore you are not in a position to speak so strongly.
You surely understand that we could have completed transfers by now. We could have spent 100m on Maguire or 15m on Shakiri. But overpaying or buying dubious quality is not a smart strategy.I don't know the kind of problems that can hold up a transfer but I know this everyone bar Everton, Burnley and ourselves have completed at least one transfer. Some clubs have completed numerous transfers.
I don't Levy's motivations but from past windows i believe his modus operandi is to sign players for the best price possible, everything else be damned. Fine tactic when all you're concerned with is the bottom line, but when building a team it can, and probably has been detrimental. Poch himself has stated how important his preseason is to a players integration into his system. This could be even more important this year with many players tired after a hard world cup, and yet we've added no one.
“Welcome Rondon!”This thread is a bit too active again. I guess now would be a good time to remind you all that he isnt coming

The difficult thing is to spend a reasonable amount of money on players that will add something to our team.
That is not easy for us because the players that will improve our team will also be desirable to teams with far more money than us. The other teams in the top 6 all have more money than us and the closest of those, Liverpool, are overspending.
Therefore we cannot both improve our squad and get into bidding wars with richer clubs. The former is non negotiable and so we have to behave in a way which does t provoke said bidding wars.
This may look from the outside like “penny pinching” or “leaving it late”. I get that because we can’t bid massively for players and agents will always seek the best deal for their clients so will shop around and stall. The lack of action looks like we are fannying around. Bit we aren’t. As I have made clear, acting late is the only appropriate strategy for our situation as we are not going to be beaten to players by clubs with more money.
My friend you've made your point in an informative and articulate manner, and I appreciate that, i just can't abide by your views, at least not for every target.
For instance please explain the Grealish hold up?

To tell you the truth i don't really understand that. I'm no financial wizard, but if i was broke the best time to get money would be ASAP.See Trix's ITK re Grealish
