We do like to take the gloomiest interpretation where possible don’t we?

It may simply be that the club sees its stock continuing to rise, and expects naming rights to go up in value over the next 12 months (or whatever) by more than the earnings/interest savings tha a current deal would generate in the same period.

I’m sure I read somewhere that stadiums couldn’t have a sponsor name for the champions league. So the stadium would always needed to have a pretty standard name alongside a sponsors name for other competitions.
It will just be the Tottenham HOtspur stadium for Europe as is arsenal’s And others

I actually quite like that as branding/logo more so the veil imagery than the Tottenham Hotspur font used our old one (looked better IMHO) however the Stadium bit of font does indeed look related above (or hellah coinky-dinkle)

That veil imagery is neat yet simple I could see that growing into a very recognisable global image (certainly a sporting one) in times when we can't show the Tottenham name or cockerel or a stadium sponsor name that being able to be used in it's place.

it's 7½ weeks till we are due to play Liverpool. really hope it's fully ready as I'm sure the Club will want to open in style and not have any bad press (something we are pretty used to). I just prey I get to see it in it's glory as soon as poss.

The press only like bad news and sensational story lines so for a happy life give up reading newspapers , I did years ago makes you much happier.
The stadium will be surrounded by hoardings where parts are not not even started i.e the hotel, medical centre etc. so there is bound to be negative reports from somewhere but as long as the seats are in, bars open and pitch ready what else do we need.

It's clearly hard for anyone to commit to stadium sponsorship when the stadium isn't complete, no matter how many assurances Levy gives.

There must be a fine line between actually selling the naming rights and what we can earn ourselves by brand awareness especially with NFL tie in. Can’t remember figure for how many watch an NFL game. Let’s say it’s 15m (actually is just checked) probably 90 % of that if not more didn’t even know we existed till now. I think our NFL exposure makes it a completely different scenario to the emirates. Maybe they want to wait a year and see what impact it has on our brand/shirt sales general merchandise in US .

Even if we got a naming rights deal the nfl will call it the tottenham hotspur stadium just as they do in the champions league. As you can't have unofficial sponsors for those games.

I completely agree. The news - and especially TV news - is mainly sensationalised accounts of the bad shit people do to each other. I'm far more relaxed since I decided to avoid it.

Why not for NFL games?

Doesn't stop them calling every stadium over there by their sponsored name.

I might be wrong, but it was on here that the nfl was the same as the champions league and will not use the name of a brand that is not official sponsor.
