The other thing about the article is that it doesn't offer up any suggestions of players we are looking at beyond Lascelles and Maguire which just feels a bit flimsy to me. There's been no talk of Lascelles for a long time and Maguire is an easy player to pick based on his WC performance.
Sessegnon gets another mention as not coming, not sure why though as we all knew when Fulham won the playoff final that he wasn't coming.
As I say, it's a weak article and probably just filling a quota of articles that he has to write for their website for the week.
As far as Zaha himself goes, there's been suggestion on twitter that formally the club is claiming he's not one of our targets despite the fact that those with inside info know that he is. It's very possible Ally is just getting the "official line" from the club as opposed to genuine inside info.
There are a set of journos that are clearly controlled by the club, getting info straight from them. Ally Gold is one of them...they all release info within seconds of each other and they all denied Aurier last year. Respect to them, but pinch of salt.

even if we signed him tomorrow it gives Palace a week and a half to find someone, and spend the rest of the money strengthening. in a mad last minute rush.
If I was them I'd tell spurs to fuck off, same for Villa and any other English club we might want to deal with. It may be the case we are leaving it last minute as we'll be dealing with European clubs who have plenty more time to replace

I have huge respect for Ally Gold, he was a regular column writer on this website when I first joined back in 2004 but with all due respect to him, I've not seen anything to suggest that he has any solid inside links at the club. He never used to be an ITK nor claim to be and I believe he only has "sources" now from working for Football.London and again.....they're not the most reputable of sites, they have surveys before you can read the content for goodness sake
EDIT: I should reitrate that I believe fully that he's passing on info in good faith but I would wonder on the validity of the info he's getting, that's all.

Im sorry but Zaha’s ig stuff he’s been doing lately looks like hes trying to force a move through social media and that is is just not respectable. I dont like it when a player just blatanly disrespects his club to force a move and that is what Zaha openly seems to be doing. That doesnt sit well with me. Screams attention seeking and attitude problems too.
Precisely my thoughts...and its the same crew of journos every time.
