I am genuinely worried we are spending the whole night flirting with two birds, confident we simply have a choice between either, only to get to 2am and one has left with another dude (Chelsea) and the other one has gone home (Martial).

Our clever scheming ends up devolving to a desperate attempt at a bit of rough in the kebab shop at 4am (Demarai Gray).

Pick one and close the deal Levy, we are attractive enough if we go all in.

I saw Gray in some highlights on sky earlier this week and my first thought was, I wonder why we haven’t been linked yet. The inevitability of it is annoying.

This is so frustrating...my meltdown has well and truly kicked in! I’m more of an observer than a poster on here, but I need to rant! Why can’t we just get something solid over the line ffs? Pochettino wants Zaha, Zaha wants to leave, we need another homegrown player, he’s a homegrown player, we have money and players to swap. Simple? No of course it bloody isn’t!!! Let’s just sit back and let someone else respond to his blatant transfer request ?

ESPN, Standard, Football.London all posting very similar stories, suggests a press release.

Both Gold and Kirkpatrick are out there in the US so you’d think this has been given to them to put other there. Kind of sounds like an excuse for not buying anyone because we can’t sell. Neglecting to mention the reason we can’t sell is because the players we bought previously aren’t good enough and nobody wants them. So it’s our own fault in the first place!

It suggests an off-the-record briefing rather than a press release. If it were the latter the respective titles would publish a story with official quotes from Spurs in it.

The club probably expected £60-80m from the transfers of Toby and Dembele, and probably another £20m or so from loan fees. Nothing has materialised, no surprise we seem to be reluctant to push anything through.

As had been explained by Trix, we were always likely to deal late, I'm starting to worry if the money is really there. Plus you know Levy wouldn't have failed to notice Moura's start to preseason (or Lamela and Llorente's for that matter).

Haha I may have taken as much liberty with the accuracy of this tweet as Sky Sources do with their reports.

Haha I'm an idiot.

Well, since Grealish and Zaha are obviously DM'ing each other on Instagram talking about moving to Spurs together - yes ;)(y)
Wonder if the Sky Sports investigative team have picked up on this .... :nailbiting:

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

We’ve had to sell to buy for the last god knows how many summer windows. I was more surprised by people thinking it would be different this year just because of the new stadium. I’m not saying we will have a net spend window, just that it will be like last summer come the end of it.

Wait are we sharing all the random stuff every player we are linked too posts on Instagram?
Because we’re desperate for something, anything. We’re like a cloister of monks fiddling away after reading a scrap of Jilly Cooper’s Riders illicitly in the library
