Just a thought but what if Poch prefers Martial, despite how much he likes Zaha. If it's accurate it could be down to a ton of different reasons, no point trying to speculate.

Let's just hope we have planned for this.

Gards is also saying that United are pricing us out of MArtial. So that deal seems dead too

Such a ridiculous;out post. What more could Levy do ?

Well if he had agreed a fee he was clearly prepared to pay before Sarri took over Chelsea probably wouldn't be in the mix and if he hadn't tried to shirt change Villa as much as he probably did to take advantage of a situation that no longer exists he'd have both players already signed and training with the team.

Sorry I'm a huge Levy fan but if he's gambled unnecessarily to try and get an ego boost he's not done us well as a chairman in this transfer window. There are variables such as if there was an agreement with Poch that we wait for Martial and then go for Zaha etc, we don't know what happens behind the scenes but evidence on Zaha & Grealish and the info coming through today points towards Levy being shortsighted on what's best for the team and not the bank balance so he can get a pat on the back from Uncle Joe

Well I’m only speculating, but if he’s always been a target for Poch then we could have gone in seriously earlier a few weeks ago when Chelsea were a mess with no manager.

He wasn't at World Cup we could have gone for him months ago if he was the guy Poch has always wanted. In my mind I could see no chance of us spending that sort of money on a player and low and behold it looks like Chelsea have pipped us. Convenient.

If you think Levy's penny pinching hasn't cost us getting deals over the line in this window or a million previous ones I don't know what to tell you.

That was not what I was replying to though. You are very anti Levy we’ll know that but the post I was replying too admitted we had had a Bid accepted and had made a better offer than Chelsea so how is that penny pinching ?

Of course they are, they don't want to sell him and they don't want him to go cheap. It's going to come down to whether or not Woodward buckles under the Moaninho pressure.

Who knows where the truth lies, but if you believe Levy offered a better package, why would you blame him?

Because we could have agreed a deal with Palace a month ago when Chelsea had no manager in place. If he's gone to Chelsea over us I think that time killed the deal and that is definitely something I can and will blame Levy for if true

It could also be him choosing to fuck us over because of Levy's last attempt to sign him (if its any truth to that rumour).

I'm not anti Levy at all, I just don't like the way Levy fails to deliver what Poch needs to take us up a level.

Martial too expensive apparently.
Zaha rejects us for elsewhere.
Grealish, Levy fails to do the deal when we could have, Villa get new owners and then the deal collapses.

But apparently none of it is Levy's fault? Come on man. I'm a big fan of what Levy has done for Spurs but it's quite clear Levy's having a shocker this summer and can rightfully be criticised for it. I'm quite happy to be proven wrong, how many days of the window left?

... If he has chosen to go elsewhere our offered package obviously wasn't to his liking.

Don't get me wrong, as annoyed as anyone else with the lateness of the moves, and not exact the bald ones biggest fan, but in this case what else could levy do than offer more money to Zaha and agree the deal with palace?
I agree maybe this time it's not necessarily his fault (if ITK is accurate), but because of the way he's gone about past targets and not getting them over the line has just made me extremely frustrated. If this was 5 years ago with Willian, I might understand why he would go to Chelsea, but currently there's no real reason to join them - we're supposedly offering a better wage package, CL, a manager that is known for developing young players and a better opportunity to be a regular starter. With regards to winning trophies, I would say we are in a better position than Chelsea to win them, considering they just brought in a new manager whose just getting used to his players and with rumours surrounding Hazard etc.

I personally believe that with Zaha Levy is trying to knock a few thousand quid off his wages or some sort, which would be the only reason why he would join Chelsea.
