Tell u what, unless Levy's got something special up his sleeve....
I've held on with slim hope, but its getting thinner by the day. Personally, felt Zaha would be a good fit...
There's still a glimmer tho

More chance of winning a trophy

I guess Chelsea have the fact they’ve been in amongst trophies, but looking at both of us we have the better stadium now and been on more of an upward curve.

So frustrating.

He'd also likely be a nailed on starter there.

And not be playing for a club with a manager merry go round, but instead with a coach who will develops him further.
Hard to say Sarri is a coach who won't develop him further. Look what he did with Dries Mertens.

I can think of three reasons why he'd choose Chelsea if ITK was true:-

1) Being able to stay in south london.
2) Sarri impressed him and promised starts
3) Chelsea's recent history of success.

However there could be other things:-

A) Chelsea could have upped their offer and Palace reneged on a deal with us. Possibly with RLC as a trump card.

B) We could have given Zaha the impression that he wasn't our first choice. Stalling deal etc... and putting the player off. Do this and Utd screw us over on Martial then we are bang in trouble.

I have a bad feeling about this window...

Well, since all our top targets seem to disseapear one by one I'll say this: I rather start the season with no incomings if the alternative is to sign Sissoko-esque players on deadline day.

Bringing in players on deadline day that are clearly a fourth or fifth would just cement the fact that this TW is one huge disaster.

Levy has been living off the VDV signing for years now - In reality the later it comes in the window the more we panic and buy players who we end up looking to sell 1 year later.

I think we'll bring players in, but I can't see them being of the quality we would all like.

Or maybe they just have better bargaining tools ie players like loftus cheek that they can throw in and make it a more attractive offer to palace. I mean what players could we offer A’s makeweight in any real??

Levy is a fucking twat in the transfer window, fuels his ego by lowballing and fucking about the useless prick, VDV fell into his lap and he’s been living off it since, no doubt he runs the club well money wise but he is shit at the art of negotiation and comes across as an awkward, arrogant dick!

If we’ve offered better wages and package to Zaha what on earth would make him choose Chelsea over us??

Serial trophy winners? Even when they are in crisis they still pick domestic trophies like the FA Cup which we can’t seem to win even with the best team we’ve had in years.

Or alternatively, we didn’t actually agree a fee? At least not a total agreement with payment structure etc.

Fucking hell. Some of the tantrums on this forum lately have been downright cringe.

Ah, gotta love a good transfer meltdown. I've no idea why you guys are so pissy about not signing Zaha. Wide Forward is the last position we really need to strengthen, sure another player would be nice but it's not a necessity.

Frankly if getting Zaha means we fail to strengthen CM, I'd pass on him. Especially as his fee doesn't look like being below 70m and we've loads of depth at WF.
