Always pinching with said salt and irrespective of who we were in for, how close they were etc

its inexcusable to perform like we have for the last 3 seasons, get to this point and FAIL to invest in the team/squad in areas we are weak.

Our 1st XI Plan A is well worth a top 4 place.

My concern is our 1st XI has no plan B and then our back up players (in the main) are not good enough to come close to Top 4.

We are a few injuries away for 7th, its not this window its happened for several windows.

But if the money isnt there because of the stadium, fine, but just say that

I really think we will be lucky to get CL next year. everyone above us has improved (United only slightly), Chelsea wont be as bad as they were at times last year and i hate to say but I'm impressed with how Arsenal have dealt with this window.

Its not just Zaha, its going into a window with no conviction. AGAIN

Im not sure what I find more frustrating the lack of activity this window or the fans on here who refuse to accept how bad this window is...its like they dont grasp the concept of needing to constantly improve and add to the team.

There are some posters who perfectly understand the concept. They also understand to wait until the window has closed before judging it. If those posters frustrate you so much, put them on ignore.

Can everyone see the ramifications of not backing Poch this window?

Seriously, next time Real Madrid come in, we are fucked.

How can Levy not see this? We are literally behaving like a championship club this transfer window, it’s not 2015 anymore.

Our mentality is embarrassing.

If people are happy and content because we have a new stadium then great...but I want to win things and so far this team hasnt been capable of that so I believe we need new and quality additions.

I haven’t seen anyone say this window hasn’t been bad so far, just that it’s not over so no one can make a proper judgement and that it’s not as apocolyptic as some are making out.

Which both seem pretty reasonable to me.

That's reasonable - although I can understand why people are getting a little bit flustered. It is brilliant being positive but it isn't looking good at the moment.

I think you're seeing that as two extremes.
I think you'll be hard pressed to find any fan who's been happy with how we've handled this transfer window/how it's progressed.

That doesn't mean we're all pissed off and annoyed at the club. We're disappointed we haven't kicked on but we also know we've got a good team who we've been able to keep together.

I'm not gonna try and attempt to speak for every fan but sure, of course I'd fucking love for us to win stuff and I want us to win stuff and I don't think this window has put us in a good position to do that. It's not put us insanely back. We've not regressed, we've not fallen apart. We've tied down a couple of our best players to long term contracts and sounds like others will follow suit, we've got the new stadium. So there's some good with what the club has done. Transfer window is not good. No-one is disputing that, but that's only one aspect of the club. For all we know this team just kicks on next year and improves thanks to stability and being in our new home and then we look back on this Transfer Window and think we massively overreacted. We could also fail and look back at this missed opportunity. Any are possible.

Point is we don't know yet.

TLDR: Window = Bad but not like this whole summer has been Spurs on its deathbed

I cant remember which update or if it was in this thread but he def posted it because I replied saying something like 'how can we agree a fee and offer a better package than the chavs but now you are telling us that Levy is being tight again?'

most probably his Agent wants a new private jet as part of the deal...

People are holding onto the ITK info about Levy offering better wages too much. Apply a bit of salt. The only way it can go from offering a better package and Zaha wanting us to the deal being dead is because of Levy. I'm no ITK but it obviously seems like he tried to work around getting a cheap deal (because he knew we had the upper hand with the player wanting us) and Parish told him to fuck off. Simple as that.

What the hell has happened to us this transfer window?

1 week today and not 1 signing or even anything close by sound of things - we look like we will lose Toby seriously weakening our squad...

Just hope something comes off but sure excuses will come re the window being so tough

Or in reality...we dont win anything for another season.

There is a big chance we get left behind this season considering all the teams around us are strengthening and we are standing still. We have also been told that if Poch isnt backed then he could be off. Im not trying to over dramatise things but Im not going to sit here and pretend everything is ok either just because we have tied down players to contracts and got a new stadium.

Where did I say everything is okay or that people are pretending that? Again it's as if there's only two possible options... complete blind faith or complete pessimism.

Is there every chance we could get left behind? Yes
Is there every chance we could be as good as last year/if not better? Yes.
Is there every chance we could not sign a single player this transfer window? Yes
Is there every chance we could sign a world beater/fantastic player this window? Yes

Christian Eriksen: I like it here Daniel, I'd like to stay and sign a new deal but I want to win things, does the club want the same?
Daniel: well coco and Moura are practically like new signings..

This is my issue with this window

Not being funny but Martial was off the menu and then he was back on it.

Grealish wasn't happening and now there's talk that it might happen.

Zaha was on, then off, back on and now dead so forgive me if I don't freak out at this latest development.

I always appreciate ITK but I never get carried away one way or the other.
