£60 million, or not, none of us see a cut of it, and if this window so far is anything to judge by, we won’t see it get spent either.

All that matters ultimately is that we bend over for a rival for the second time in 12 months. Woopee.

Agree that he has to go, under the circumstances, but the facts are there to see......we had our best defence in the country for pretty much two seasons when Toby paired with Verts. The guy sees danger others don’t, he is top drawer, hence Maureen targeting him so intently.

United will see a similar defensive improvement and that could kick them on, until Maureen sinks the boat that is.

When he's gone, looking forward to more info from ITK (who said that won't go into details while he is still ours) about how exactly he disrespected the team. Think it will make all of us happy that he is gone and laugh at the price we got.

Obviously not a surprise at all. I think most of us knew how this would play out. Levy was never going to turn down the kind of fee United are willing to offer. Martial was never a realistic option so I hope we stop wasting time on him move on and use the money to get Zaha. Assuming that’s still alive.

Its not that we want to see a player paid his wages for being on the bench. Its about strenghening a rival 2 yrs running.

We pay many a player who gets marginal minutes throughout the season or just getting cameo appearances. So that reasoning doesnt wash with me.

Now if there was a younger exciting talentlined up like a De Ligt or that Pavard guy as an example, those of us disgruntled with this deal would find it slightly palatable and see the long term gain to this particular deal. Now lets not go the route of there is still 5 days to replace him.... I've heard that throughout the window.

We've known for roughly 12 months or more actually of TA's stance on his contract....we should have had his replacement scouted, negotiated and signed by 1 June 2018. This just smacks of the Berbatov/ Keane situation all over again.

I've seen comments to the effect that Foyth/Sanchez was the replacement player... Yet prior to TA's injury he was constantly in the starting 11.

Its truly sad to lose a talented defender of his calibre to a Rival... ( Okay it started as a reply and became a rant...got that off my chest :cautious:).

Sanchez is his replacement ffs. You and others are getting bent out of shape because you can’t accept Foyth will be back up.

So Levy has caved in to United and is strengthening a direct rival yet again... Typical.

At least the myth that he's a skilful negotiatior and player of the market has now been truly debunked

£60million for a 29 year old ...

I type things on the internet when I'm angry and this is the result.

Wasn’t Davidson his replacement blooded last year?

Take the money and run, hardly played last season and we did just fine.

If we had Toby against the likes of Juventus I think last season could have been even better. We missed him in the big games.

Thing is other clubs will now know we have an extra 60mil burning a hole so will inflate their prices even more especially in the last week. Still maintain we'll make no signings.

Then he would have been sold last season and at the least earlier in the window.. It was said there were enquiries last season from City too. We also saw how vulnerable we were in defence the moment Toby was out injured and having a DM injured simultaneously.

I dont have any issue with Foyth's role or his purchase. I sense he was brought in as a understudy to Vertonghen. So long term that makes sense.

hmm yeah selling our 29 year old hamstrung CB for 50-60 mill now, when he can jump-ship for 25 mill in a year is definitely Levy caving.

Imagine if we turn down the big bucks now, keep him on the bench for a year, then he goes and signs for Arsenal next year.

Fuck that

I cant see this means we're a selling club. He made unreasonable demands, we said no so he wanted to leave. No club can keep a player who wants to leave. Good news is, the new stadium means we can pay competitive wages so that covers one of the reasons players would move on. If we can finally win something and make that winning consistent, then I doubt we'd get many more players wanting to leave in future for any other reason than them not getting game time and gemerally they are not big losses if they use that reason
