I know people say that time is precious but I really want it to be Thursday at around 6pm already. Such a ridiculously all over the place window

I agree completely. Let's be honest 95% of Tottenham fans knew Sissoko was shit so he wasn't exactly a gamble, just a pretty poor signing under the circumstances.

They dared to bring in shit in hope he'd come good yet refuse to dare to bring in quality in case he turns out shit. They've got it all backwards this brave malarkey

Many thought Llorente was another pony singing as well. Neither can now be shifted

I walk these streets, a loaded 6 string on my back, and I play for keeps cos I might not make it back.......wanted, dead or alive....sorry, the Jovi in me escaped! :headphone::(

Great song, but I think there’s more chance of Jon Bon Jovi signing for us than Martial.

Agree about the lack of clarity on events . If they are prepared to throw Martial into the deal for Toby surely some credit should go to Levy for it .
Of course Levy will get credit, it's what most of us are after. Being resigned to losing Toby, getting Martial is a bit of a coup really.

Premier League clubs have so far spent £1b (billion) pounds this summer, but it's "difficult".

My arse.

Even if Mourinho lets Martial go to a PL club, we still have Chelsea to worry about... we all know how that ends unfortunately

I'll be honest, I saw the logic in signing Llorente with Janssen being so limited as a player in the Premier League and with Llorentes goal scoring for Swansea the year before and his pedigree.

What still baffles me is how we didn't identify that most of his threat comes from crosses and aerial battles yet when he came off the bench or played we used him in a different type of style. I love our footballing philosophy under Pochettino but found our use of him baffling. Possibly he was another Levy special. Either that or Poch got his scouting wrong

Although that is mostly covered by Liverpool's agent fees, and Jorge Mendes' "consultancy" charges :D

At the end of the day, according to ITK it seems like Levy is playing chicken with some of the biggest clubs in world football. Isn't that what we all wanted? To stop being bent over by the elite?

There is a difference from playing chicken and trying to be too clever by half. IMO Levy plays trying to be too clever by half and looses.

Anyone who watched him for Swansea knew he was just a lampost. Personally I'd of stuck with the more 'mobile' Janssen and saved £6m

Agree on the use of him but as you say it seems to smack of a Levy/Levy Scout buy.

In terms of owning a football club, Levy is the only billionaire like that compared to the other top 3/4 clubs. Explains why we're the only ones without titles since Levy took over
Levy is not a billionaire FYI. He and family have/had about 29% of ENIC which owns 90+% of Spurs. I imagine he has some other stuff but this will be the vast majority of his wealth. So at most he is worth a few hundred million and that will be relatively recent based on the increase in the value of THFC.

Joe Lewis is a billionaire though

With respect, Crokey, I'm not sure that statement is entirely accurate: would Villa and Palace really be classed as "some of the biggest clubs in world football?" United; absolutely. But surely selling them Toby and not including Martial in the deal would constitute the very epitome of "being bent over by the elite". Wouldn't you agree mate?

ENIC are an investment company so surely they have invested in more than just us.

I think that 29% is held in trust, last I read about it? No idea how much money Levy has, or how much he had from Mr Byrite etc. All I know is that the amount they paid for the club 17 years or so ago now is bordering on insignificant when considered against their value now. I imagine that the purchase of the club has, in itself, made Joe Lewis a billionaire on paper - even if he wasn't before. I imagine DL is in his good books regardless, as he has worked very hard to turn Joe's millions into a billion or two.

My arse.

Is that not the perfect indicator of how difficult the market is?

£1billion has been spent and how many teams/fans are happy with their business?

Richarlison, Gibson, Maddison and Danny Ward (?) make up almost 10% of all money spent by premier league clubs this window. And another 15% is by a club Trix has told us have massively overpaid on agent fees. That’s difficult.
