@dtxspurs is right about Toby. You can go on about Davinson was bought as a replacement for Toby, but was he? I presume he was brought in to learn his trade in the PL alongside two world class CB's, not to actually replace Toby that season. It was lucky that Toby got injured and Davinson was surprisingly good straight away. But then I remember either one of Davinson/Jan was out and we were terrible at the back. That's what will happen this season if a decent backup CB isn't signed if Toby left, costing us vital points.

First reply

Already, I thought the same, but really this year I think we are making tremendous sales in very difficult situations. We are getting tough in the negotiations and I think that gives me hope

Second reply

Our chairman 'el baldo' is very adeptings at waiting until the final minute. Maybe he can return a large money for this sheet player.

Third reply

I watching Meerkats on TV ad and touching myselfs

So there really is another place on the Internet like SC.

Crazy that I'm the bad guy when I want our team to be getting better, not sell to our rivals, and replace players in the positions that we sell them.

We all of course want our team to improve, we just have differing ideas at times.

My question to you though, is why do you feel some of these likely outgoings must be replaced? Dembele and Rose among those rumored to leave, if they go, are the only two who I believe would warrant replacements. Otherwise, I just don’t see it, even with consideration of the context of four competitions, new stadium jitters, and increasing pressure on the team and coaching staff to get a trophy.

He looks like a player who could play either as a lone holding midfielder or alongside Wanyama/Dier. That would give us a bit more flexibility if Wanyama is fucked and/or Dier is seen as the short-term Toby replacement (hopefully with a view toward bringing in De Ligt or a similar young talent in future windows). I'd be happy to see this go through.

Thank you, don't understand how that is so freaking difficult to understand. Not to mention, I'd imagine Dav was brought in as a successor to Jan as he was the older one and at that point we were planning on keeping Toby.

Cause I think we need depth to compete across 4 competitions. I want to keep Dier at one position and have him perfect that craft, I think he's a damn good player but he needs to focus on one spot. I don't like pulling from a spot where we have sufficient depth (DM) to fill other spots.

Literally no idea what he’s like

A window of Grealish, him and Martial would have been considered under par a month back, but I’d bit your hand off for it right now
A window with a signing like Martial would never have been considered under par. Who the hell was expecting more than one ‘statement’ signing? A couple of promising CMs and Martial would have been perfect for me, even at the start of the window.

It has gotten better - it remains to be seen this TW - when we do business we can see if it was all worth it, right? ...

I mean last year we certainly weren't as good as the year before in the league, whether that be due to the stadium who knows, but were better in champions league. Still ended in a semi finals loss in the FA Cup and an early exit in whatever the other cup is called now a days.

After not knowing who this guy was an hour ago, I’m now convinced we must sign him and he’s the second coming of Modric.

So we finished third without our 'own ground' and made progress in the Champs league. FA Cup semi final ... Guess the FA cup is the only true down fall to the season.

Not sure what else you expected then ...

Ally G with the cold water. Guess we will wait and see.

"football.london understands that Tottenham are not looking to sign 23-year-old Celta Viga midfielder Stanislav Lobotka despite the reports in the past 24 hours linking the north London club with a £31m move for the Slovakian international"

https://www.football.london/tottenh...alish-stanislav-lobotka-transfer-14997337.amp
This was the same Ally G who insisted on not committing to whether we were bidding for Davinson Sanchez when all the news about bidding and delays and negotiations was happening.

I think the club just automatically tell him "no" on every single transfer target for negotiating purposes.

Has Ally given a yes on any deal apart from Grealish? I only remember him pooh-poohing deals.
