How about this.... what would people do if the only way we could get Martial involved with a swap for Toby is to involve a buy back to United for say £120m.

Personally I'd be against it but it would be interesting to see what people think about that kind of sweetener or a release clause being placed in his contract so that Man U's worst fears about him becoming a mainstay for a direct rival become reality.

It has its positives and negatives around % sell ons, releases clauses etc but would it be better to have him with something included or not at all?

No but it's irrelevant anyway. Levy would never agree to it.

I agree he probably wouldn't but he did agree to a release clause in Toby's contract so does have history doing so. I think he's probably learnt a big lesson from doing so and if he adds that kind of clause for Martial it kind of sets a precedent for future colossal signings.

We may just have to wipe our mouth of Martial. What a shame that is

Fuck Martial, if he's too expensive for us, fuck him off. It's not like he's the next Pele.

We shouldn't accept to be Uniteds bitches like that. Martial would be my dream signing for this window, but not at any cost.

Even if it means we get £30m more than we will do next summer when his move is not only inevitable but a lot cheaper? I get what you're saying but if we get a good bid and get serious dough in, along with a player that isn't committed shaving another £4m off our wages it just makes sense to.

I'd be hugely disappointed if we don't get Martial as part of the deal, it would be amazing to see it happen but I just think with the amount of £££ involved we really do need shot of him this summer for so many reasons that outweigh digging our heels in

That would be fine with me. The only reason utd would want him back is if he was successful here........ If he's successful here then martial wouldn't want to go back there.
But back clauses are meaningless unless both parties want it.

I think Martial would be open to going back to Man U if there was an offer on the table later on down the line and Mourinho was no longer there.

Man U seem reluctant to sell to a PL team. If this is the case it must be because they are worried about him being a success. A buy back or a release fee agreed for a future move could be something that relaxes their stance a bit, even though I don't think it'll be in the best long term interests of the club. It's looking like a bleak deal unless there is something properly going on behind the scenes

I'd be happy with a swap deal involving Toby and Martial, but it needs to be constructed so Man U has no further say in Martials career with us. Like you, I'd be frustrated if we sell Toby, without getting Martial in the deal, but that is probably whats looking most likely right now (n)

So if it's sweeteners in the deal should Martial be a success or no Martial at all, we walk away from it or sell them Toby without using him as real leverage?

There's so many things to decide over the next day or two I have no idea how our squad will be looking come Thursday evening :s

Am I the only one that think Martial would only be a squad player for us? He will add some pace, but no way near gpod enough to be a starter for us.

I think the longer this saga has gone the greater his reputation has grown. For some in here it now appears that he is a younger, better Ronaldo - which is brave to say the least.
