No it doesn't but I'm responding in general to where people are saying that it's no big deal if we don't sign anyone because we have a great squad. We have a great first team but it's not to say that we don't suffer when we are missing certain starters through injury or being rested as was plain to see at times, especially in the last third of the season.

Surely nobody can think it’s not a big deal if we don’t sign anyone?

That’s just crazy.

I imagine that almost everyone can see that we would benefit from one or two signings in midfield. I accept that if we don't sign anyone then we just have to get on with it but given that we did clearly struggle at times in terms of breaking teams down last season and that top 4 is getting ever more competitive, I am not feeling as calm as others that what we have is going to be good enough to compete on all fronts.

Trying not to derail the thread but

It's a deal if we don't sign anybody, but its a big deal if we sign non-HG players as a punt and they don't work out

WE do need players but we have got to the point of needing to replace players like Dembele and TA, players who have been first picks for the team over the last couple years

I think we will sign this week, but if we don't we still have a good squad capable of keeping up progress. We may have to wait till January. WE may have to use the youth squad.

Back on topic I'd love to get Martial, so would a lot of big teams across Europe. If we get him thats a very, very big deal

I look forward to us finally agreeing a deal with United for Martial on deadline day only for the photocopier to run out of ink at the eleventh hour

I agree we definitely don't have the strength in depth especially if we do intend to get rid of 7 players. yes promote and give some youth a chance, but we definitely need that special CM. Dembele was special but still had his 1 fault distribution and not taking that shot on occassionally

as said above,

but I won't panic or meltdown like the majority

"In addition, it is looking increasingly likely Anthony Martial will remain @ManUtd beyond Thursday. Club not actively looking to sell at this stage."

Simon Stone is supposedly T1 for Man U

I think you can tell from the myriad of links going around at the moment with regard to who they exactly want at CB that not even those within ManU are entirely sure what their plan is for the last fews days of this window.

Can't see Mourinho being too happy about that.

Willian has now confirmed that he will stay at Chelsea. Unless United get a surprise bid from Europe there is only one possible destination. Need Mourinho to stomp his feet and throw his toys out for Toby and we may see something happen. Not expecting it to but let's see.

There's so many teams still all over the place with certain transfers still to go through/ have movement on. The next couple of days could be absolute fireworks for a lot of teams or just fizzle out.

I also think that last gasp bids for European based teams will see activity as the selling clubs won't be restricted with trying to get replacements in due to their extended window

Yep, the European clubs will see this as an opportunity to make a killing selling to restricted English clubs,
while just replace those players with the next line of up coming players in a much cheaper market.
Money will be made this week.

Do Martials contract expires next summer? United in the same boat as us with Alderweireld except we actually can get 25m for Toby. Is this correct?
