That last line about Toby going with Martial not coming the other way isn't going to sit well with many in here today! :nailbiting:

Was always going to happen. Doesn’t make me any less pissed off about it though. Depressingly predictable.

At the moment it stands at 0 in and 0 out. With so much that can happen in the next day and a half I hope people realise nothing is set in stone just yet.

Exactly this.

Nobody actually knows what will happen until tomorrow evening. Not even Levy.

We could be in for a record today... :p

The previous record was 5000 online but the site was completely dead and no one could do anything.

The most we've had on with the site usable in previous windows was around the 2000 mark.

We've never had this many on before with the site running so smoothly and that's thanks to everyone's donations helping to fund the server.

I think anyone expecting another CM for Dembele will be dissapointed. It seems pretty obvious that Grealish replaces him. Forget the 3 names Ali mentioned because clearly the move for Grealish means we didn't succeed or persue further with them. It makes sense that we shift a foreign player in Dembele (I guess because we didn't get offers for any others) and get a foreign replacement for Toby or DM.

It basically means we don't close the window with too many non HG players so that if Toby doesn't leave tomorrow we can still sell him abroad (and buying clubs know we don't need to sell because of too many non HG and his vlaue doesn't drop). It also means we still have the option open to swap him for Martial because we swap non HG for non HG. I hope I'm making sense

There you go Archie. You could ban a few hundred people and it wouldn't even dent it. You have been warned folks!

Excellent news! And if Martial joins as part of the Toby deal, I will donate £50.

Initially I read the middle bit as we'd been offered players but we wouldn't bite as we are all in on Martial. Now I agree it probably means a potential bonus signing, as he then mentioned we have to scope out today whether it's a genuine possibility (and not agent desperation). Could be something to watch out for later.

It would be foolish to be all in on Martial, United will happily string us along right up until the deadline just to pull the plug, Because they know that they can sell him easily to a club in Europe after the transfer window has shut.

If a wing forward is one of the areas we are looking to strengthen; then there are alot of good options around at the moment as an alternative.

It looks like Poch and Levy are Martial or bust though.

Nice one @Rob, looking forward to tomorrow's traditional deadline day organised chaos (y)

Just chucked a few shillings in the pot, will hopefully get a more substantial contribution over to you guys by the end of the month.

It's almost as though @Hercules' latest implies that waiting until the end of the window is a worthwhile strategy, especially when said window closes before the first game of the season.

I get the concept of not spending on a lesser target for sure, and we do have some depth there with Moura and Lamela coming in fitter. I'm sure if we get offered a top player and a deal could be done we would consider it though.

If it comes good, Levy will be hailed as a genius, and deservedly so.

If it doesn't, he'll be metaphorically crucified, also deservedly so.

'Twas ever thus.

I think this ties in with what we know about the way Poch operates and wing forward is more of a "cherry on top" signing rather than a crucial one anyway.

With all the latest possibilities being thrown a round here, the majority of them see us weaker than last year, Not good. No way we sell Dembele to city and Toby to utd surely

Text received:........

It's amazing how every club has demanded super high prices for their players this summer(imo based on what Liverpool have laid out) yet with two days to go they know that Premier league cash is still king. The number of players being shopped around by their agents today is incredible. It's not just the buying clubs that are now getting desperate

Followed up by........

Yeah, I'm sure there are at least a couple that are of significant interest to your lot.:)

Nothing concrete there but reasons for some of you miserable twats, not to be lugging the extension lead and the toaster up to the bathroom just yet.
