I disagree. Just as we don't account for all of the costs associated with a player in one year(and in practical terms, given our chairman, HIGHLY unlikely we are paying all the costs in one year), it is highly unlikely we receive all the proceeds from player sales in one year. These are paid over time. Our transfer net spend, as is repeated consistently in here, is roughly zero. So, from both a cash flow and accounting basis, these things should be even (Spurs don't release the manner in which they or other clubs pay fees owed). So, I disagree. I think the profits are not misleading and we could afford additional transfers.I was using walker as an example of how amortisation can scew profit. His sale recorded us a €50m profit. Sanchez cost €6.7m €40÷6 years). But this has no bearing on what money changed hands or we have available to use. The amortisation of those deals would show us making €43m profit but reality it is €10m.
