If the deal was agreed in principal between all parties (Spurs, Villa and Grealish) in June, then why did we wait until Monday 6th August to submit a formal bid?

IIf something goes wrong - as it has in this case - then you have very limited room for manoeuvre. I think the technical term is "backfired"...
Buy surely lessons have been learned?

It's there in black and white that Levy delayed the deal when everything was agreed (which Trix has repeatedly backed up). Yes the new owners then started playing silly buggers but that is the risk you take when you constantly dither and leave things to the last moment. You see it as me having an agenda but for me it's like trying to argue with a religious fanatic who cannot countenance any criticism of their god. For the record I think Levy overall has done a great job but he certainly should not be beyond criticism and I think in this instance, and in this transfer windon in general, it is entirely justified.
I am full of criticisms of Levy, more than most here I imagine, I just don’t see anything constructive in partaking in the spurious rage that engulfs this site during the window as I am able to empathise with how the club goes about things, whether or not I agree.

Still time to get this done, It is Levy day after all (y)

Levy Day. Traditionally the day Levy finally opens his wallet to spunk money up the wall on players we didn't want, didn't need, and won't be able to shift in two years' time.

Great.

Dont think that is fair. I think Levy has brought in some good players in the last few days of transfer windows. He would never bring in a player if the manager didnt agree to bring them in.

If that's true, why not take a moment and ask yourself why.

Wow this day is just getting better and fucking better

The most annoying thing is I was finding it quite entertaining going onto VillaTalk and watching them melt over this transfer when it looked like it was happening, but now it's the complete opposite - they're all laughing at us :ROFLMAO:

Villa, a Championship club, have made us look stupid - we're supposed to be a big club...a Champions League club!!

How have they made us look stupid? They rejected an offer, and....? They now have an unhappy player who knows that they do not need the money so will want a big pay rise. He will also say goodbye to his England career thanks to them.

We’ll have the last laugh when they fail FPP and lose him anyway for nothing

Because Levy has to bleed every single penny out of every single deal? I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if was to save a month's wages

Yeah, I get it.

Why haggle and negotiate in multi million pound deals with a company who is almost in liquidation on the off chance that the next day they get bought out by billionaires.

We should just pay asking price for every single player we buy in the future just incase this happens again.

We cannot compete in the PL this year without Jack Grealish!!
