I can't imagine this transfer window has done wonders for ticket sales for the Fulham game, or indeed shirt sales of the new kits. Talk of Levy out and ENIC out is madness, but when the club don't invest in the team it's natural to not want to put your own money back into the club. The new stadium will be great, but it's an asset for the club and the owners. I go to watch the team, and that's where I'd sooner see investment if it really is a straight choice between the two.

Still praying for a last minute signing that can make a difference, but at this point it looks like I'll be watching us struggle to try and finish 4th, whilst refusing to pay the extortionate cheese room prices.

Judging by all your reactions, I guess you can't have faith much faith in our manager when you consider the players he has available. I mean, if this season is going to be awful when you have some of the league's best players in every position on the pitch (the leagues best player in at least two) then the manager clearly doesn't know what he's doing.

no one has said that ATALL, people are more irked abou levy being levy - even the ITK have put blame squarely at his feet.

There are still players being offered to us including one from Italy(who is being offered to all the better sides), but I doubt it will come to anything.

I know how it feels to be a fan of a club under a transfer embargo now.

Well there we have it, time to face the music
That's the worry when he says we can not improve the squad - How the bloody hell is that right when we have Sissoko! We have a world-class centre-half who is likely gone in Toby (likely Jan or summer now), plus a host of other stuff like injuries to Wanyama, etc.

This smacks in the face of Poch saying stuff to keep the fans quiet because of the in Poch we trust effect.

Given how all are turning on Levy (not you @Stoof ), I assume that I'm missing what the alternative was to column a) spending money we don't have on the players who are potentially good enough or column b) overspending on the players who aren't good enough.

Lay off mate. People are rightfully pissed, posting this shit at this time helps no one, if anything it actually makes people more angry

If we had a fully fit squad, this would be more understandable, but we don't. Unless I missed a bulletin we're going to be short in midfield heading into the season.

I know we have a good first 13/14 when all are fit, but this is such a strange position to be in. To really make no signings - even at the expense of increasing our vulnerability to non-PL buyers over the next few weeks - suggests that Pochettino etc have either more faith in our squad than most, an absolute lack of faith in there being value in the market, or literally nothing we went for came off, including getting reliable interest in shipping out the unregistered players.

I've been optimistic all window but this is just genuinely bizarre.

RE: standing still

If you believe that the only way to improve is to constantly rotate staff then yes. If you think that any of our World Cup semi-finalists (and winner) haven't learnt anything or mentally strengthened since their 2017 selves then also yes.

Yeah mentally strengthened and physically knackered.

This. This. This and so much this. If we can’t do the right deal then don’t deal.
That's ridiculous, everyone knows you have to pay top dollar for big time players, clearly we were never willing to do that so we shouldn't have wasted the fucking whole summer doing jack shit.. We should have been signed young players for the future which is the format which got us to where we are but unfortunately we can't even do that anymore. What's the plan now then?

Wow, this window is turning out to be a nightmare. If no one leaves apart from the people out on loan last season (except Onomah) we can still have a decent season. Moura will be like a new signing as he has had time to settle.

Im not convinced that Poch was sold down the river at all.. I think if he was he would have gave some indication like Mourinho did..

Suprising that we aren't looking at getting some top drawer young lads in if that's the direction we want to go in over the next few years.

I'm sure the academy has produced some good young players, but could bolster that with 1 or 2 from elsewhere.

Nothing wrong with what City are doing and Chelsea did previously, just mop up a ton of great youngsters, but different to them in that we could actually bring some of them through

Our transfer bank account is funded with sales of players. We've not sold any players thus the account was empty for signings. We're giving youth a chance because we basically have got no money for signings. Do not go into a window without looking at what we'll be bringing in through sales before you start thinking about who we will bring in.

This is how it will be in every transfer window for a long time unless the powers that be show a tiny bit of flexibility in terms of our transfer policy.

So we’ve gone from being in serious negotiations for martial £65m, Zaha £70m & Grealish at £25m to looking at players valued at £15...that makes total sense to me, great work Levy!
