Amazed Lamela is on the bench. Love Son and Lucas but there are 0 playmakers in a line up that faces a team that will sit deep. Pace will not be the answer here.

For years I’ve heard that we lack pace which is what we desperately need to break down teams that sit deep. Now we play it, it’s the wrong thing to do apparently.
I’m confused (n)

Jesus christ you lot are such a negative bunch...so much complaining! Why dont we see how the team starts the match before we lay into the formation etc.

Have some faith

I'm all for patience but it's a little weird looking at that line up against the bottom of the league. Omitting Lamela is also baffling considering Eriksen and Dele are out.

COYS of course though. But if we struggle today I won't have any smpyathy for Poch looking at that set up.

If we hammer them I'll acknowledge it lol

Poch is being a stubborn sod over that midfield - blind to what's been played out in front of him time again, reluctant to be proactive to try and rectify a glaring area of concern.

Lamela can feel rightfully aggrieved not to start

CM isn't good, but it's the best we have. We're just not very good in that position. I don't think Wanyama, Winks or Sissoko would be an improvement.

I think we need both, but when you rely on any one thing you become predictable. Pace matched with a playmaker then great, just pace or just a playmaker your one dimensional.

The lack of Lamela is truly troubling. The lack of 4231 equally so. I really hope this doesn’t backfire because recently it has gone wrong every time our manager has ignored the obvious option.

Not sure about 3 at the back, but Huddersfield are bottom of the table with 2 points, only 3 goals scored and 14 conceded. We should be winning this no matter the formation. Would've liked to see KWP star if Aurier is definitely out for Barca match.

COYS!

Gonna be a long couple hours ahead.

Only justification for benching Lamela is possibly resting him for barca, but still. FFS

On the plus side today is that even with this team selection and formation it should be more than enough to beat Huddersfield.

Lamela issue is being overblown, imo.

yes, he should be starting. But, we do have to manage the squad through 3 matches over the next 7 days. And perhaps the physios don't think Lamela should be starting 3 matches in a week.

Lamela can (and probably will) provide a spark off the bench, where he has 2 goals and an assist already this season.

I don't know why you'd play that shape today against the bottom team in the league.

A team that's leaking goals and has had a shocking start to the season and have no confidence.

You play the shape that yields turgid side-to-side football and no dynamism in the final 3rd and very few chances.

I just don't get it.

Yeah I don’t get it. Two wing backs bombing on, two lightening quick players on attack supporting kane. So negative.
