Also, no one can ever call Levy the best negotiator in football after he couldn't get Sancho but sold Walker to City. Man that kid is good.
When did anyone ever call him that?

Nowadays 'Tottenham Hotspur Real Estate Company' would be more apt.
I see it get put on here all the time how great a negotiator Levy is.. What great prices he will get for our players, how he can drive down prices for players we want, etc. When did anyone ever call him that?
There's no doubt that Levy is a great negotiator - he's got clubs to pay some outrageous prices for our average players - Wimmer £18m, the Sunderland triple package, etc - and we've signed some great players for peanuts - Lloris, Moura, etc. But if you are going to negotiate hardball-style, it's a high-risk strategy, and not everything is going to come off like it will if you have a blank chequebook. That's just pretty obvious.I see it get put on here all the time how great a negotiator Levy is.. What great prices he will get for our players, how he can drive down prices for players we want, etc.
He is yes.I see that Ndombele has now been called up to France squad.
He is out of our league now, isnt he?
Or maybe Tottenham Hotspur savings account where you need to give about 5 years notice if you want to draw money out, it's probably like the bank in Harry potter gringots with all the grumpy elfs getting the arsehole when you ask for anything.Tottenham Hotspur Cheese Holdings and Fire Alarms Wholesale Ltd

He failed last summer (a summer where his eyes may have been distracted by the stadium problems), but his tenure is not just made up of one summer. He's delivered a lot of players for a lot of managers, and maximised the limited resources we have to build a very competitive squad. No he's not. The object of doing transfer-deals is not to fleece other clubs but to bring in the players we need to improve our squad and losing our deadwood, in order to maximize our chances of on-field success.
Levy utterly failed to achieve either objective last summer. That makes him a lousy negotiator in my book.
We've been bad in the market for 3 straight summer windows. He failed last summer (a summer where his eyes may have been distracted by the stadium problems), but his tenure is not just made up of one summer. Jeez, some people's memories are awfully short these days.
The argument is not really our transfer policy - it's Levy as a negotiator. I maintain that over a long period of time he's done a good job of maximising the resources available to us.We've been bad in the market for 3 straight summer windows.
Then he should have brought someone in to cover part of his workload. To fail this badly in such a critical part of his job is frankly inexcusable. He failed last summer (a summer where his eyes may have been distracted by the stadium problems)...
Not sure there was a boat to get on.
Ajax see him as a major talent and wouldn’t want to sell him for a low cost.
Not having a go at you but it is strange how many fans think we can buy top young talent for a low cost, like the club selling don’t know his potential worth.
Dan your final sentence makes it sound like he's been hamstrung in some way by external forces beyond his control; as if he's been dealt a poor hand financially and just had to "make do" with limited resources. But that's not a true reflection mate. With profits of £188 million over the past 4 years, and revenue at £306 million, Levy hasn't exactly found himself without a pot to piss in! He's simply made the CHOICE to spend that considerable revenue on the NPD whilst choosing to exercise a policy of relative frugality in the transfer market. Apart from a few notable exceptions, the vast majority of Levy's work in the transfer market reads as a litany of "doing deals on the cheap"; not because he had to, but because he chose to. He's been directing the funds elsewhere. The argument is not really our transfer policy - it's Levy as a negotiator. So the clubs we are competing with don’t have a higher turnover? I can assure you, they do.Dan your final sentence makes it sound like he's been hamstrung in some way by external forces beyond his control; as if he's been dealt a poor hand financially and just had to "make do" with limited resources. Rabiot turned down 9mil per year salary from PSG according to Paris United. Think its pretty clear he will not be an option.
That's £150k/w which is in line with our wage structure. We could offer him that (and more) plus a lucrative signing bonus. I agree that he's probably not a realistic option but IMO it'll be more of an issue of our project not being nearly as enticing as other suitors he will have.Rabiot turned down 9mil per year salary from PSG according to Paris United. No they don't, they used to but they don't anymore, not since the beginning of last season where we had 60-80k at Wembley every week. It is clear as day that ENIC have used the fans as a cash cow to build a property empire that they can flog to the highest bidder. Staggering to me that most of our fanbase still refuse to see this.So the clubs we are competing with don’t have a higher turnover? I can assure you, they do.
