We absolutely lack any killer instinct. We went a goal up, and then backed off. Better teams go for the throat and put matches away.

I think it's there, but it's overshadowed slightly by Kane and Sissoko's reluctance to shoot, Son's reluctance to pass, and Moura's reluctance to hit the target.

Weird half, have had quite a few clear cut opportunities but could have easily found ourselves level or behind.

They'll grow in confidence if we keep this up. Need to come out firing

The first 15 minutes or so were far too easy and complete domination. However after that I think we've started to believe that, and got lulled into a false sense of security and lost a bit of concentration and silly errors started to creep in, Cardiff themselves woke up a bit and showed a bit more fight desire and intent, and so they've then taken encouragement from it and a large period of that half has been scrappy, with no control, and to be honest pretty turgid low quality stuff.

Enough chances will surely keep coming our way, but we need to play with a better concentration and intensity in the second half and make sure we get the job done.

I'm gonna come out and say it; Sissoko has done some good work for us today

In fairness Cardiff had had more chances to be in front than we have to increase our lead.

Sanchez didn't have a great half, knock down for Dier aside, a little indecisive and is being somewhat bullied in the air.

This is what I'd do...

--lloris--
---Tripps---Toby---Sanchez---Rose---
---Dier---Skipp---
---Winks---Lamela---Moura---
--Son--
Skipp will link up better from deep + he's a tough little cookie.

Give Tripps more effective cover and utilise Winks' drive in that channel.

Lamela would have a field day in this game and you'd also get good recovery from him centrally.

Kane's dropping 10 too much and has been ineffective by-and-large, actually hindering our counter attacking potential at times as he just can't run.

I'd like to keep Son at point and stop the rotation in that position and limit it to the 3.

Make those changes and it brings better link-up and greater dynamism and tenacity from the middle down.

This is a game we should win 4/5 -0.

Cardiff started - and have continued - by bending over and holding their cheeks apart for us.

Considering the lack of options available, that change is the little bit of Viagra we need to properly go to town.

Kane's been excellent. Unfortunately this formation seems to prevent him getting any chances so it relies on other player to score.
It's because we don't have a number 10 on the pitch so he keeps dropping deep. Take Sissoko off for Lamela and he would be freed up to play further forward.

So which players have been better?

Kane Toby jan Rose Lucas could even argue Gazzaniga who has been very good and probably played about the same minutes.
I shouldn’t have said lamela has been far from our best as he has been good I just get a bit annoyed with the constant lamela fan boy club on here tbh
